I'm the odd man out on that one. I work much better in the cold than the heat. I'm off all week to work on the place and with my animals. Brother is coming down and we will doing fencing, to get ready for goats. Then we are going to work on our small barn. So, it will be all outside work all week.

I think my stint touring North Dakota in the winter schooled me about cold. Subzero weather. There, I would step out of the motel room, take a deep breath and the air would burn my lungs. First breath, my nose would immediately start running. Second breath, the running would freeze in place in my nose.

So, I learned. It ain't cold till your snot freezes.

Morning Al.

I don't know what is up with them. I just seem to loose one every so often. They just seem to be weak even tho they are eating. This one seems to be shaking it's head so I wonder if the roo has hurt her while mating.......I have removed her from the pen & have her alone to try to give her a boost.....

I am always cold.

Hello Okies! I've been catching up and you have been making me laugh! I am trying to get well...Monty told me I had to...

Sorry about Ra, Teach - I was really laughing at you trading all of everyone else's stuff to Q so you could see his bears!

And I laughed at Doodle-Okla's post about burying the long snake.

Hope Lauren's surgery goes well and she recovers quickly!

I'm with you, Sooner - cold is bad!

The silkies that I have had all seemed to me to be stronger, they handle themselfs great when young and in with bigger more dominant breeds. Mine killed themselfs trying to brood, they would sit & sit & sit never through to term and then would try again. Their bodies just gave up.

Head shaking could be mites in the ear or eyes, Bill Bailey clued me into that in the summer after buying some auction birds, and I treated them in quarentine and all was fine. Perhaps Doctor Les could way in on this later this evening.
