Doing well - we have been in San Antonio the past 4 days, visiting my mother, sister and brother. We just got home a few hours ago. It was actually cold in San Antonio, but this wind in OKC has a sharp bite tonight.

I am ready to drink some hot tea with honey to see if I can get rid of the allergy congestion I brought home.

Have you tried some of those rubberized thermal gloves? I bought some at Lumber 2 last year. Thought $20+ was expensive for work gloves, but they really made a huge difference in keeping my hands warm and dry while breaking ice. I saved the label somewhere, was trying to find them for less on the internet. When I find it - will tell you the brand name.

Yes! Please post the name of the gloves when you find them. I need to find something to protect my hands, especially in the morning. I feed and water in the dark most mornings, and recently I missed and put my hand straight into the water dish (heated so it wasn't frozen, but still cold), which meant my hand was blue and aching by the time I finished all the pens.

Just got home from the 2nd job... dang it's COLD out there! Had people complaining all night because we shut the exit closest to the register, but people need to understand that if you freeze the people helping you, they get SICK. So it stayed shut, no matter how many people complained.

Now gonna have to figure out what to do with these 10 I still have, so I can pick up the 12 from Monty. Hrmm.

P&B that would be so awsome...yet another notch higher you go!

I am gone folks...too darn cold for me!

Poco Pollo - I hear ya! My favorite is to splash myself with water when breaking ice at the ag farm. We have bunches of little folks and very new to animals...they need help and our ag teacher is well...short...not her fault but it is easier for me to get leverage on stuff. Anyways i start whacking and then splash! It is so much fun to teach that first hour with a damp cold leg...

Oh I already have a taker for the 10... I just need a place to stash them until they can be picked up, and figure out quickly why my other heat lamp *isn't working*. I mean seriously. I just had it on! Replaced the bulb with a red flood, it didn't turn on. Put the bulb I had just taken out of it back IN it, and it didn't turn on! ARGH. So I dug out the spare and put the red flood in that. I'm going to have to run by the store tomorrow, hopefully I get done with the insurance exam before Lumber 2 closes! I want my silkies!

Is there anybody out in the Muskogee area that has some cages I can borrow to put in the back of a pickup and haul 40 chickens to DARP to be processed? I just got an email from a lady out in Muskogee who is raising 40 freedom rangers, she said they are close to butchering weight... I need to call DARP and make an appointment to drop them off. That's gonna be a long day (drive to Muskogee, drive to Talequah, drive home and wait for how many days to be done/frozen so I can go pick them up).
