Dee:

You're describing the ideal situation. I know my DH doesn't hate the birds, but he doesn't GET them, either. All 3 of our grand kids love the chickens. Our oldest granddaughter got her first chicken at POOPS, and we keep her little hen here with us. No doubt DH enjoys the fresh eggs. I just wish he could stop with the heavy sighs every time he walks past the baters. One day I wish he'd ask, "What are you setting this time, Honey?" instead of "That's a lot of eggs. That's really a lot of eggs in the incubator. Honey... that's a lot of eggs in there."

Ok here is a question to all you cochin lovers/ experts what color would you consider this rooster I am guessing birchen but I am not for sure!!

County he is just now about 8 months old, he has beautiful coloring and feathering just wandering if it is a recognized color????
I just googled Birchin cochin and I am going to go with that, his hackle feathers have been that color for quite some time but the wing feathers have just recently started becoming that color so there is hope lol

Oh my goodness! Charlotte and I just got done watching one of the best movies (alright most men probably won't think so), 'Mamma Mia'. We were dancing practically the whole movie. It was sooo much fun, like a disco in our living room while watching one of those inspirational feel good movies. I am not sure if I can even get this girl to calm down now to go to sleep. After watching, we saw they had a sing-a-long section. So of course, yes we sang almost every song. Now the kiddo is suppose to be getting her teeth brushed and off to bed.

It was so adorable though watching her make-up dance routine, using pirouette's and jazz and anything else she could think of. My DH came in when she was dancing without her noticing and he was just ear to ear in admiration of such a great little dancer. We both were. She loves to dance and sing. Although, she is will have many outfits to put away tomorrow, because she had a dress change almost every scene, LOL.

I personally did not think everybody was a great singer in the movie, but otherwise it really moved me (pun intended, because we both were dancing).

I think the everyday singing voices made the movie even more fun somehow. It seems to make everyone more comfortable singing along when all the voices aren't perfect. (I guess it takes the pressure off.) We loved the movie so much that I bought the soundtrack. It has been in the car for so long and we still listen to it. Seems to always put a smile on our faces. (Movie or Soundtrack)

Birchen is a recognized color in the ABA Standards.

Yeah - I know I'm spoiled. He's asking how many babies do I think will fit in the playpen/brooder and "How much does an incubator cost?" He's getting a kick out of the chicken thing.

Yes, that is exactly how I felt. It really seemed like they were not out to try and disguise the voices and made it seem more real. I am not sure I have seen a musical done in that fashion before, but I enjoyed it immensely. However, I wonder if that is why some people were ragging on it so hard saying it was one of the worst movies, perfectionists I suppose who cannot see the real art. Art does not always have to be perfect!
