I'm the Producer of the Tulsa Oilers home games - it's a fancy title for a not-so-fancy job. I direct the sound, lights, video, replays, announcer, etc. When you go to any big sporting event and see stuff happening on the screen, the music, the activities on the ice or field or court during breaks/intermission/halftime etc. There's someone who is in charge of deciding what happens when - that's what I do. I'm on a headset talking to the people who are doing the actual work...I got the job because I'm bossy!

Hey City -

I grew up in Tulsa. I refuse to say how many years ago this was, but I was a sweet young thing still in high school - my mother worked for a man that is or was at the time part owner of the Tulsa Oilers. Don't quote me on it, but that was my understanding, anyway. His last name was Sallee - not sure of the spelling. We used to go to the games and had rink side box seats. My mom made me quit going when she found out I had a crush on one of the players. I don't know why she made me quit - I thought the guy was cute, but I never met him or spoke to him...

I do remember that Mr. Sallee also owned or was part owner of another sports team - Team Rodeo. One of the members was Bobby DelVeccio (sp?). He went on to become the World Champion Bull Rider in the PBR not long after that. It always blew my mind to think of Bobby in rodeo - He was from NYC - and had the WORST New York accent!

I really don't know much about the hockey team - the BOK Center hires me to produce sporting events in their venue, so I'm really working for them. I know that Jeff Lund is now the owner of the Oilers, and that he used to own the Tulsa Talons - the arena football team, too. But that is about the extent of my knowledge as far as team history.

It would make sense that someone else owns the team now. Please note that I refused to say how many years ago it was

, and also note that I am now a grandmother. I seriously doubt that Mr. Sallee is among the living anymore - my mother is pretty elderly now, and he was nearly retirement age back then. Arena Football hadn't even been invented yet, that I am aware of, when all this came about. Am I dating myself?

No, but my GG boxing coach lost to the real Sugar Ray in the 1940s. Do I get points for that?

My future champion was a bit more obscure. I lost to JB Williamson (future world light-heavyweight champion) in the finals of the All Marine Trials. I don't remember much about it, though. It didn't last all that long and I was a bit woozy for a while afterward.

If I weighed just 8 pounds heavier, I could have lost to someone really famous... Leon Spinks, who would one day beat Muhammad Ali.

Mike will die laughing when I tell him this!!!

Beth me too.... about Chickasha....I really liked the town when we were there....except for the Christmas light debacle that locked up the whole town!!!! Mike has been climbing his buns off... you should see the pole outside... it's hilarious.... I told Mike I was gonna call the power company and tell them we had woodpeckers!! Big 'uns!! There are a gazillion hole from his spikes!!! He said they would know right off I was BSing about the woodpeckers when they looked at it....

Teach, I told Mike that that was too much cold and wind for me and if you lived there it was probably infested with snakes.... That did it for him!!!

ROOSTER? Did someone say ROOSTER? I thought I heard someone say ROOSTER. I have some ROOSTERS. I could get rid of a ROOSTER....or even two ROOSTERS.... I could supply the booby prize for your silly challenge?

The only good thing about that movie and the only reason I let my wife and youngest DD drag me to it. I felt so sorry for Pierce Bronsan. Boy couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. I understand the only way they got him to sing was to promise him they would dub someone who could actually sing over his voice. I think maybe they thought it would be funnier if they just left his singing in. Travolta in that roll would at least have made it bearable.

Okay, I did enjoy the rip on disco during the credits. That was pretty funny and they all looked like they were having a good time.

I understand they are considering a Mama Mia II. Someone please shoot me if they do, cause I know the women folk will try to drag me to that one, too.
