-Stimp-

I got 5 3 standard and 2 bantam

got 1 yesterday, then 5 today...never get the same each day

Doing good here drinking my homemade cough syrup the store bought stuff doesnt seem to be helping any lol

my grandma would simmer honey, chopped onion together till the onion was clear. Then you'd eat a coffee cup full throughout the day- generally cleared up a cough, not sure why

Ok I wanna be a brat for a minute...

I've been going through all of my old stuff that my mom brought over, and I found this painting I did in high school. I know, not chickens, but still kind of Okie.

as they would say in school- first thing comes to mind looking at it is 'motion' catches the eye..love to see some more!

have you tried having a Etsy shop online? out side of Ebay... since your drawings are all your own?

have been thinking about it, tried it a long time ago and nothing came of it, so maybe i will start fiddling with it...

Yeah, that is kind of jarring for people. Marine, boxer, and reference librarian don't seem to quite jibe. You should have seen the looks I would get when it was children's librarian. Or worse, professional puppeteer!

But I know how you feel. I was equally surprised at Monty. He seems such a gentle soul to be a boxer. But then, some of the gentlest people I have ever met were also some of the best fighters.

Thanks Buster, I guess I just didn't have the mean gene. There were a few guys in our circuit that I never fought and I am glad because if I had beaten them, they probably would have slit my throat when we got outside.
I did like landing a KO punch though. Like when you hit a home run in baseball. You just know when you connect that its gone. Or should I say he is gone.
I did all of my boxing during my high school years and a little bit in college.
There was a guy from our school that was one of the lighter weights. He was the shyest, quietest, nicest person you would ever meet. But when he boxed, he was poetry. It was a true science to him. He disected guys and picked them to pieces. He didn't have very many KO's but I never saw him lose a fight.

I just got back from meeting Les at the Jones auction to give him a NNEE rooster.
Man there were a lot of people there.
Lots of stuff too but I didn't stay.
I'll let Les tell of his chicken travels and acquisitions from today.

I could do that for Watchers. I loved that book! Much better than the movie, which missed the entire point.

The American Splendor series is another favorite I could probably write about. Analyzing Harvey Pekar would fill a book by itself!

I'm tied with City. 8

I'm up to my ears in eggs. (Not literally)

I tied with Stimpy. I got 1. Stupid chickens.

Alright, I am going to stop complaining about getting only about a dozen eggs a day from my 20+ laying hens. I am also going to figure out how to set the timer I bought for the chicken coop more than 5 years ago and it is still in the package. I finally figured out that I can plug it into a ceiling outlet and hook a heat lamp with a regular bulb into the timer. I don't have to put it on the light switch

Q - Thanks for the compliment.

Artsy - Congrats on the degree! You should charge more, your artwork looks like photography, its awesome!

I'd love to do more art, but I don't have much confidence in my ability. My mom and her dad did AWESOME stuff. My grandpa carved life-scale wild birds, and painted them. They're amazing.

Buster - I have to pick a second comic, and I think that one was on the list. But I'm kind of a Batman fan, and there's some of those on the list also.

If I win the rooster, I want to give it to BarnSwallow, along with as many other roosters as I can manage to catch at my place.

BarnSwallow, since you "can't" buy any chickens until after the first of the year would you like to be "gifted" with a bunch of mutt chickens that are a few months old? I could deliver them to you right after Christmas.

I remember my best friend got a guy like that. My buddy was tall and lanky, didn't really look like a boxer, but had the hardest left hook of anybody I ever saw in the amateurs under light-heavyweight. He fought this one buffed guy, huge muscles all over his upper body, and knocked him out in 30 seconds of the first round with the first hook he threw. In the dressing room, the guy started getting tough with him ("I can't believe I got beat by a sissy." only he didn't use that word) and my bud said, "You should have thought of that in the ring. See you in the next tournament." Cracked me up, but my buddy confessed later he was kind of scared.

Another time in the Golden Gloves me and some other guys from our team were sitting behind his opponent, a very well known fighter in Texas, talking to this other guy. They hadn't heard of my buddy (it was his first year). One guy says, "I hear he has a pretty good right hand." His opponent of the evening says, "Yeah, I'd better circle to his left, then." We almost fell out of our seats, trying not to bust out laughing.

That fight didn't last long, either.

Me, I didn't have all that hard a punch. I wasn't one-punch knockout guy like you. I liked to use combinations.

Hey City,Grace and P&b you all keep trying to get us back on chickens! :oldWe seem to have drifted about three pages worth off on other subjects! Not complaining, just saying!

Would hate to loose contact with all you fine folks.
I'm bummed tonight, finally figured out my pigeons have PMV.Its a pigeon disease thats deadly for the birds. Can be treated but the meds are expensive. Had a "friend" give me a dozen rollers a few weeks back. Lost everyone of those and now mine are starting to die off! After a whole afternoon looking up symptoms finally figured it out. Its also very prevalent at pigeon shows so ig any one got any at the recent show you might want to vacinate your flock if you haven't already. As best as I acn tell its not linked to chickens ,thats one good thing. I think I will vacinate mine any way!.Anyone have any knowledge of PMV please share.
