Here's the Ideal Poultry website where colored Easter chicks and ducks are sold. They do sell straight run dyed chicks .... but it is illegal to buy colored chicks in Oklahoma. Several years ago, the Tuttle Feed Store had some colored chicks delivered to them accidentally, and Gerald and I bought them all just before Easter for a really good price. We tried selling some at the Harrah auction and they said it was illegal. Sure enough, they are illegal in Oklahoma, due to that same law that Monty was talking about ... you can't sell dyed fish either.

Oh, and I just looked at the Cackle Hatchery website ... that's the hatchery from which the dyed chicks Tuttle Feed Store received. Anyway, I noticed they have Standard Game Birds! Well just got the word from Dw that we are traveling tomorrow to meet SIL in Little Rock to pick up Mil.

Sister -in law heard the weather forecast and got scared and didn't want to travel any further. So she will drive 6 hours total and we will drive 12 hours total. Not exactly how I wanted to spend Christmas Eve!

Oh well at least we will be home Christmas Day,sleepy ,but home!Have to go and get the truck serviced and then go to the Dr> Time to renew meds and they insist you have to go in before they will renew them. Just a rip off to cjarge an office visit. When you have medicare they want to turn in all the overpriced bills they can!

Been out moving chickens around. I believe the turken roo is is finally going to be alright. He has his old cocky looks back.

My golden necks sure are pretty. Almost ready to start laying. Wish I was getting closer to some of you I would gift some of them to you. I have a roo and five pullets too many. They are project birds so I am not for sure yet on what they are going to throw. But they are cute. I also am going to get rid of the booted butterscotch. They really are an unusal biege/yellow color.

Good afternoon everyone!! There is only one way we can tell what the weather in going to do in this part of the country and that is to wait and see what happens!!! we have 4 local channels and they all say something different,so if I wake up and there is snow on the ground I figured there was a 100% chance of snow!! Honestly I wish it would snow for Christmas other than that I dont care either way!! I have to build a bigger coop today for my Favorelles they are a little squished in the coop now but they may not mind it during this up coming cold snap!
