Happy Holidays Everyone!!
I am glad to hear that everyone is home and safe. Also glad to hear that everyone is taking the weather in account and staying home rather then getting out in this mess. Well we got about 8" of snow and I have been spending all evening working on food preparation for tomorrow so all we have to do is toss stuff in the oven and roaster.
Uli is stuck at work for the night since the roads leading out of the airport have all been shut down. His boss is the biggest piece of cr*p I have ever seen as a manager. Rather then sending everyone home when the airport closed he had them wait, until they were unable to leave, while he sits home with his family.
Ok I will quite ranting. I am just upset since this was supposed to be our first holiday together and now Uli is stuck at the airport and they do not even have food to eat.
Got the chickens and the turkeys in the coop and the babies snug in their dog house. Had to drag the turkeys off the fence and stuff them in the coop. They sure are not the smartest creatures walking on this planet.
Well I am going to start another sewing project. Unlike some of you who are motivated enough to sew your own I am sewing faux fur bedspreads, oh and curtains. It is very therapautic sewing and a great stress relief.
Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful night!

Hey everyone, I made it home fine but the internet was down when I got here. It has now decide to work! It finally started sleeting and is trying to turn to snow but hasn't yet. Everything is white but it is ice. We went to the inlaws to have dinner and presents. The kids had a good time, I had too much food & wine. Now I have to manage to stay awake to do the Santa thing. Oh boy.

Glad everyone is home safe & sound. I wish you all to have a merry Christmas!! I pray that we all remember the reason for the season.

Gort, the robot was about to destroy Patricia Neal when she uttered the phrase, given to her by Klatu, played by Michael Rennie. He took her into the space ship then came back out and melted everyone with so much as a pocket knife. Much better that the Keanu Reeves version.

Merry Christmas, Sooner.

We got home about 30 minutes ago. We would have been home sooner, but DH decided to try and help someone who was stuck and ended up getting stuck himself. Even a one ton dually in 4 wheel drive can't move when it is bottomed out in a snow drift.

Fortunately, we weren't too far from the house and our middle son came and managed to tug us out with his Tahoe. We had a good time, but it is nice to be home where it is warm.

Merry Christmas!

I just looked out across the yard at the shop. There must be a foot of snow piled against the door. I wish I'd thought clearly when the snow started. All the shovels are in the shop. It's going to take a shovel to clear enough snow to feed and water chickens in the morning. I hope they are all in their houses. DH wouldn't let me go out to check on them after it got dark. He's right... it's too cold, too dark, and too windy to check on them safely. I hope they are all smart enough to stay put.

Stupid wind...

Y'all have a great Christmas...glad to hear folks is at home and warm...I sure am glad I have the kind of job that when weather threatens we quit! And yell like a bunch of babies..cuz we have folk's babies! Much better that those silly ag jobs...something silly about the animals don't know it is Christmas and wanna eat...such silliness! I do kinda miss playing in the snow! It was fun getting company stuff stuck...then we would switch to personal stuff...didn't get it stuck...didn't try as hard!
