Yes GPs tend to roam, which is why she is in the 50x50 chicken yard with the laying flock. She was digging under the fence and we were getting calls from people two miles away in all directions that they "had our dog" Hubby ran a hot wire around the laying flock fence and although he never got it energized, she apparently had experience with a hot wire previously, because she won't go closer than two feet to the fence. She has the best disposition of any dog I have ever owned and I wish we could allow her to stay in a larger fenced area, but the last time she escaped and was found trotting down the middle of Sooner Rd at 11 pm - a 4 lane with a speed limit of 45 mph, 2 miles from the house, so we have to protect her from herself.

all city water.they had a main break last year an shut everyones water of in the middle of the cold.my pipes froze an busted in like 9 places.i had a time fixin them, cause a 400 lb man cant get around under a trailer house to well

I can relate.
The reason I was asking is that when our water freezes it is usually the little pipe coming off the pump. It hasn't frozen this year. I wrapped it well last season so that seems to be holding.
When we had city water we had water problems a lot but it usually wasn't at our house.
I can't crawl around under things any more. Some strange phenomenon has made everything closer to the ground.

Thanks Al,
I have to fix my back fence today. The dogs have learned that it if the climb up on it a ways it will lean and then they climb out.
I have to replace at least one post. I would rather just shoot them but the DW says no. (just kidding) I wouldn't mind having a good shock collar though. Of course I would probably be the one wearing it.

Al...is bolting the pan on the bottom the best way to do it. I've seen it done 2 ways....putting about a 4 inch thin bolt through the side of the pan and bucket or putting the bolts through the bottom. Which is better? The bottom looks like it would be easier.

I bolt mine through the bottom using round head bolts so they sit better when flat, if you bolt through the sides it won't be as strong when lifting it full of feed and it would be flimsey so don't do that. Walmart may have something in the garden dept for the small feeder, I would just look around in all the depts including housewares and something will strike you.
