Note to self: Do not approach Q until after morning coffee... This is exactly how I am in the a.m. - I'm smiling and talking but nothing enters or exits my brain until after coffee.

NO COMMENT FROM YOU, AL, MONTY, STIMPY, DOODLE, TEACH...I can hear what you're all thinking!

(and now, back to catching up)

TJ's Na-Na :

Oh, Oh, Oh......... Is anyone on here planning to go to
the Blanchard Auction??????????? He says someone
is bringing in a mountain of new quart jars. I gotta
find out if they are regular or wide mouth jars, and
then would work out something with someone if
they go for a decent price. Would want 20/25 cases
if the price was right.

Gees, this forecast is totally scarry. I don't do
cold well to begin with. We have done well
with the birds so far, but this round is going
to be a whole new ballgame.

Stay warm y'all !

Eulaine,
I am planning to go to Blanchard and if more than one of the BYC Okies wants jars, we may want to coordinate our bidding efforts.

My initial thought when I read the post from Jerry however was that they may not be a standard canning jar. He called them 24 oz. jars and said they came from a beekeeper. I just called Jerry and asked him about the jars. They are glass jars, no lids and require a #63 lid.

A 16 oz. canning jar will hold 24 oz. of honey, since honey is heavier than other liquids. (I sell quart jars of raw honey and they contain 3 lbs or 48 oz. of honey.)

The big question is where to get the lids. I will do some research and see where #63 lids can be obtained - probably from a wholesale packaging company somewhere.

Donna : I still have the big feeders in the small pens, it just means you don't fill them as often, no big deal it doesn't take anything more to make the big ones as it does the small ones.

AL

How 'bout plastic cat litter buckets? They are about 2 gallon sized, and I have a bunch of them I can give you (4-5) because I am a pack rat and keep all kinds of stuff "just in case." Of course, I'm still catching up and you probably solved this days ago....

I happen to have 3 extra tins that I can bring to you in Feb (be here before you know it) but you have to make your own.

You and Donna just didn't read what I said did you?

I am telling you a pink foo foo chicken, it would be the ultimate foo foo! My daughter would be in absolute love, her favorite color on her favorite chicken.
Actually, I would probably love it too, not that pink is my favorite color. Can anybody guess my favorite color?
