LOL, Nacho's aren't enough of a draw, now if you could talk Al into making that pizza I would make the drive!

I had a great day, it's the end of the year so it is busy but I am moving through it with easy, thanks to being all caught up to start with. I love my job.

Finally found some metal lids that will fit a 63mm size jar - if anyone is interested in buying some "canning jars" at the Blanchard auction. I searched lots of container companies before finding these at Kelly bee supply - with shipping and handling, it would be $23.08 for 100 lids that are metal with a rubber seal on the inside

Donna : I still have the big feeders in the small pens, it just means you don't fill them as often, no big deal it doesn't take anything more to make the big ones as it does the small ones.

AL

How 'bout plastic cat litter buckets? They are about 2 gallon sized, and I have a bunch of them I can give you (4-5) because I am a pack rat and keep all kinds of stuff "just in case." Of course, I'm still catching up and you probably solved this days ago....

Beth...the problem is I haven't been able to locate any kind of pan to fit under the bucket to hold the feed as it comes down. I've looked everywhere.

A few weeks ago someone suggested using a cardboard box until a container of the right size could be located.

Ok I know a couple of people have posted they have EE roosters they are wanting to find a home for but I am too tired to scroll back to figure out who it was. I am looking for an blue, black or white EE (ameraucana) rooster with a really fluffy beard. I have the prettiest blue bantam pullet that I want to find just the right roo for. I am going to take pics of her this week and post them. She is lovely!!! Surprising is that she is one that I bought from Atwoods about 3 months ago.
I think I am going to install strands of hotwire around the outside of the coop fence and see how that works to keep the d#$n coons away. Dirty rotten buggers!!! So any rooster I get should be safe, finally.
Maybe this spring we will get a dog, after we get back from New York. . Now I know what to answer when I get asked what I want for my b-day a dog and a few turkeys too. See I am not too hard to shop to buy a gift for now am I?

I happen to have 3 extra tins that I can bring to you in Feb (be here before you know it) but you have to make your own.

You and Donna just didn't read what I said did you?

Hey now...be nice. I'll try to get some made and if you want them let me know. I'll be coming to the city in a couple of weeks and could bring them then. How many do you want?

I don't know why you all are so scerrd of electricity...the worst it can do is curl your hair....LOL Besides there isn't any way you're going to get hurt doing these things....unless you do some thing stupid. Before you plug them in everything is covered and like a table lamp.

Donna still lovin those heated water bases!? I went out to refill this evening so I didn't have to tomorrow night when it was suppose to be rain/snow and thought about you! LOL.

The Cochins got new bedding & the juvies got the old bedding to keep it alittle dryer for them. Over all I will have to throw some scratch tomorrow night & that's it.

Oh I finally had to put the little silkie down that I had been tryin to save.

Hi everyOkie! I am all caught up - finally! I made notes as I went. I have a lot, so I won't bore everyone with all my comments, but here are a few.

About avatars:
Sooner - I still love the snowball cochins in yours - very apropo considering the current conditions - but so much cuter than the weather forecast!

HennyP - LOVE your happy new avatar - I am so glad you're playing in the church band - you are such a shoe-in! Sorry to hear about your little dog - I hope he's okay.

Kate - your avatar is still freaking me out, but I'll get used to it - so no worries.

Robin - For the longest time while reading today I couldn't tell if your avatar was a photo or one of your paintings...and I'd decided it HAD to be a painting because the hen in it has such a wonderfully expressive countenance! So when I saw the post with the full photo, I found I'd been fooled again...you are SO GOOD! Keep it up, girl! And I love your never-ending sweet campaign movement for us to foster each other's unwanted roosters, etc. (But I'm one of those you can put on the "don't call" list for that...I have an axe and I'm not afraid to use it!)

Stimpy. I don't know what to say. Fentanyl patches? Speaking of which...when do you find out about your NPIP test? Should I worry about the too-few times I've come into contact with you? Do I need to consult Dr. Les NNbreeder about treatment options for your pals? Another thing Stimpy, you mentioned your stuck truck. I have to tell my story from today: My driveway could be used as an ice skating rink. The part at the top by the garage is flat and covered by a sheet of ice that's 5" thick in places. Jack brought his '92 F-150 over this afternoon to take me to get feed and straw to put in the chicken run, and when I came out of the house he was spinning the bald tires on my skating rink. I gestured to him that I would put my purse and my can of Diet DP in the cab, then I'd move to the back of the truck. When I opened the passenger door to dump my stuff he said, "Don't try to push it - you'll fall on the ice." I said "I'm not going to push...I'm going to get in the back." I crouched in the bed of the truck and bounced a little to help the spinning tires burn into the ice. It worked. When we got to the street and he stopped so I could get into the cab I looked at him and awaited his comment. He was wise enough not to say anything but he couldn't hide his smirk... When we drove back up the driveway this afternoon the truck had 250 pounds of feed & scratch, 3 bales of wheat straw and FOUR NEW TIRES on it. Go figure.

I'm considering making a trip to Blanchard just to see those of you who may be there, but I don't know yet.
