OK I think I'm over it... think I just needed a good cry...haven't had one for awhile and things build up with me. Maribeth, I was a week past my 17th birthday... my mom had to sign me away!! HA!
Its only 28 years now...but was I attached to that bowl. Came in a set of 3 and it was the only one that had survived all the fights and moves and drama of all those years. And it exploded when it hit the floor...nothing I could fix. I have seen the darn things is antique stores out here...upwards of 50.00 for the set. How to tell when you are old...your things are considered antiques and your music is "oldies".... boy I sure wish I had it back. Only bad thing was they had ears so they didn't have lids to store stuff. But I have mixed cakes and cookies galore....and it was my salad bowl of choice. Oh well life marches on.....
texas lost...I like the QB...and since I live in "TEXOMA" figures I should root for them... truth is once OU is out and Notre Dame is over I could care less.
It's -4 right now with wind. Hens are still locked up tight. I ain't going out there till later.... they are nagging away...hmph....
I may have a solution for you about your bowls. I have a set of pyrex mixing bowls that were my great-grandmothers. It is the primary colors set. Well somewhere in my last move either I did not get it back or it was broken ??? I checked on
ebay and have found one to match it for prices as low as $5 to 30, but most were around $8-15. I know it is not going to be the same bowl that my grandmothers used but it still reminds me of them when I use each bowl and that is just as good.
Thanks Muesky...I will check it out...I have a nice set of enamel ware from a pricey store in town...got it for my birthday...but the lids split...
Made me mad since I never even washed em in the dishwasher!!! Going to go look at
ebay now.
