Well, looks like I'm going to be wrangling 2 kids at Blanchard by myself... J apparently agreed to go to a basketball game with his dad (I take pleasure in knowing that he won't be enjoying the game much since he doesn't like basketball... Is that evil?).

I feel the pain! Wish I had the big heater...I will be crawling under my house in a bit. I would gladly let you do it since you are getting so much experience. I think I might try and get my wife to pay me as if I was the plumber and use the $ to buy more birds!!!

faerielady - it will be easy...we just tie all our kids together and let the roam...figure that way they are all together plus if someone tries to take one they get all of them!

How about adding some hooch? Alcohol has a lower freezing point! Drunk chickens would be a hoot!

Gettin' there. I was just out carrying turkeys two by two into the external garage as they aren't even smart enough to roost out of the wind, and my snot didn't freeze in my nose when I breathed in, so it ain't quite North Dakota cold.

And Q, I get the hating Texas thing as I don't care for UT at all. But the OU fan requirement is going a bit far I think.

Now I didnt say OU fan, I just said Oklahoma there are 2 Oklahoma teams, and I admit I will cheer for OSU only on the days that OU isnt playing lol

Wow! ya'll have been married 30 years! Congratulations! You must have been 15? 16?

OK I think I'm over it... think I just needed a good cry...haven't had one for awhile and things build up with me. Maribeth, I was a week past my 17th birthday... my mom had to sign me away!! HA!
Its only 28 years now...but was I attached to that bowl. Came in a set of 3 and it was the only one that had survived all the fights and moves and drama of all those years. And it exploded when it hit the floor...nothing I could fix. I have seen the darn things is antique stores out here...upwards of 50.00 for the set. How to tell when you are old...your things are considered antiques and your music is "oldies".... boy I sure wish I had it back. Only bad thing was they had ears so they didn't have lids to store stuff. But I have mixed cakes and cookies galore....and it was my salad bowl of choice. Oh well life marches on.....

texas lost...I like the QB...and since I live in "TEXOMA" figures I should root for them... truth is once OU is out and Notre Dame is over I could care less.

It's -4 right now with wind. Hens are still locked up tight. I ain't going out there till later.... they are nagging away...hmph....

I may have a solution for you about your bowls. I have a set of pyrex mixing bowls that were my great-grandmothers. It is the primary colors set. Well somewhere in my last move either I did not get it back or it was broken ??? I checked on ebay and have found one to match it for prices as low as $5 to 30, but most were around $8-15. I know it is not going to be the same bowl that my grandmothers used but it still reminds me of them when I use each bowl and that is just as good.

The well is either frozen or ???, despite heat tape on all the pipes. Fortunately, we only use the well for outdoor watering and the house is on city water, so I was able to carry water to the chickens and rabbits from the kitchen sink. The pressure tank shows zero pressure in the well house, so maybe it is the pump. In any event, at least hubby won't have to go under the house to find the problem.

Roy - sorry your water is frozen.
