Here are some other fruits and veggies that are high in potassium (more than 200 milligrams per serving). I left the banana on the list so you could see where it falls in the potassium count. None of these may be as conveniently packaged as a banana, but still.

One papaya (781).
One cup of prune juice (707).
One cup of cubed cantaloupe (494) or diced honeydew melon (461).
One small banana (467).
One-third cup of raisins (363).
One medium mango (323) or kiwi (252).
One small orange (237) or one-half cup of orange juice (236).
One medium pear (208).
One cup of tomato juice (535) or chopped or sliced tomato (400).
One baked sweet potato, with skin (508).
One-half of a medium avocado (450).
One-half of a medium potato, with skin (422).
One cup of fresh or cooked asparagus (288).

Others include cooked pumpkin (282), cooked mushrooms (277) and fresh Brussels sprouts (247).

I heard pomegranate fruit was high in potassium as well.

Neat information. I love papaya, now I have a good excuse to eat them and get the kids to eat them.

Thanks City! I figure I can chuck a sweet potato at him and tell him to eat that... it's got more potassium than the banana!

its not mine. I need my bators, but I dont need another one, not right now anyhow. lol. If its one of those nice old wooden ones I would get it but i have no space for it and I already have 3 of them. And all mine hold way more than 200 eggs.

Charley!! I've been to Tulsa Feeds a couple of times. Since I've had my chickens on their 20% Starter/Grower/Layer feed they've been laying eggs like crazy, cold weather and short days not withstanding. I got a few bales of wheat straw to spread in the run from them a week or so ago - it is full of wheat and the chickens love scratching through it since they've been shut up for so long. Thank you for telling me about that place - sounds like I need to go get a calendar!
