Pickle abuse!

I think the mayonaise pushed them.

That's because the mayonnaise gets tired of being beaten by the eggs.

What kind of snake were you bitten by? My youngest is 7 now. I'm so sorry to hear you were bitten at that age.

Before last year I hadn't ever killed a snake, but it was on when Macee died. Just turn your intense fear into intense anger and you can get it done. After the first 2 or 3, it wasn't a big deal anymore. I just couldn't bear the thought of one of my girls getting bit by a copperhead. I'm going to do whatever I can to prevent one of my children from experiencing that. We have had some indepth viper classes on how to pick out the vipers.

Yes, The first one I have ever felt that Iknow of.
It registered 4.0. They say there was another one that was 3.8.
I didn't notice it.

Let me say that I learned firsthand that water moccasins are fully capable of biting underwater. Anybody who tells you they can't is full of crap. Unfortunately that experience is why I never learned how to swim. It's only now as an adult that I can get into a regular swimming pool and put my head underwater. At the lake, I'm the one sitting down with the water coming up to my waist. In other words... no way, Jose. I'm willing to bet that's why no one in my family who does fish (my parents) never taught me how to fish... they didn't want me to freak out.

I don't want to feel an earthquake. It's not on my bucket list!

Okay, safety briefing time. Everyone knows where the safest place is in the case of an earthquake... It's the middle of a door frame so go stand in a doorway during an earthquake.

Hey guys

Sorry I bailed out last night, I was checking out all this stuff on Haiti.... we dont have cable for our tv so in a sense we dont have anything that comes in we use it for DVD's and now the Wii and I have my home page set to weather, email and calendar so any news I look for it... hadnt realized Haiti had a horrible earthquake a few days ago, very sad for those lost and the ones left behind trying to manage amongst the chaos over there... Spoke with my mom and she said that my sister experienced a nice lil earth quake last weekend there in Humboldt County (California) that caused a sink hole in the back yard of my moms place(sister is renting it out)... I had to explain that I dont catch the news unless I seek it out.. helps keep me sane from watching too much negative stuff besides I have you guys for entertainment.. ha ha ha

Jeannie

I wanted to add: Living in California I experienced earth quakes

Living in Colorado I experienced Blizzards

Living In Texas: Heat Waves

Oklahoma: Tornando type storms (remember last spring in Anadarko.... just a wee bit up from here caught that nasty storm)

Now I just need to go to Florida and experience a Hurricane and they can name it after me

My dad disproved the theory of them not being able to bite underwater with the scenario that they eat fish and that would be the only way they could catch fish. Makes sense. Now Faerie you can be the proof though.

I have a story for you about fishing. My father and a friend went out fishing in a creek in one of the small flat bottom boats. They were floating along and a fat water moccasin fell into the boat. They killed it but SHE was full of full term babies that spilled out. They ended up sinking the boat.

You gotta love the two vipers in this area that carry their young.

OH, OH, OH

I have one for you Jeannie. You need to experience a sand storm!!! Definitely put it on your list. Just imagine micro dermal abrasion for your entire face all at once. You won't have to "remember" you need to close your eyes.

Actually, in studies and environmental observation they are notoriously bad at "fishing" underwater. They usually force the prey up against a log, or wait for low water/tide pools to form, at which time they basically scoop them out. Yeah, I have done tons of research on this type of snake... maybe it's the need to know all about what terrifies me?

Ugh. Full term babies. I can't blame your dad & his friend for sinking the boat. What a mess. I was actually bit by a juvenile.
