Okies........... It is true the next event is in the preliminary planing stages, Monty & I know everybody would be getting cabin/POOPS fever by now, and we usually start 3-4mo before the event. There are so many considerations that have to be sifted through due to our super large group. We are now working on the Venue arrangements as this is critical. Monty and I Promise an Announcement will be made as soon as we possibly can, Planning such a large event the right way is not for the faint of heart so please bare with us. for the newer folks perhaps looking at some of the pic's from the Fall event will help you get an idea of what POOPS is all about.

Maybe my cochin hens will be laying and I can have some eggs and chicks to sell to help cover my gas.

Good Morning Okies!

Just thought I would drop in and say hi real quick before the kids get here.

Oh I am just not wanting to think about POOPS right now because then I start getting all excited and well I have enough stuff without that.

I totally understand loving fluffy cochin butts. It is so cute with they try to run, with their stumpy legs and fat bums.

They are great when you need a chicken to hug, or at least mine do because they just nestle down and except that they are going to be loved on for a while and since it is Chicken Lady it is ok. My other chickens are not quite as excepting of the lovins but that really does not stop me.

I just tell them it is the price they must pay for food, shelter and toilet.

Well I better get going the kids will be here soon. Have a great day everyone!

buy low, sell high!

wait... that was for stocks and real estate....

It works for chickens but I usually get caught in the buy high and sell low trap.

And people wonder why I bring no money to auctions?

I should mention that I do this on purpose. I don't want to blow my budget. Given half a chance and a pretty chicken, I'll blow money and feel guilty later when I'm eating ramen.

I don't LIKE ramen.

Hi folks
frow.gif

Someone/thing unplugged the lamp in my outside brooder and I almost lost a few chicks! I did lose one, apparently it drowned in the waterer. Ah well, I would have ended up culling it anyways, it wasn't thriving well. The other two I put in the sportsman to warm up and they were fine this morning so I put them back out with their clutch mates. They went from very cold and gasping to lively and thriving after a few hours in the warmth of the incubator.

I tried the hair dryar, but something's up with the electric at my house and it couldn't pull enough power to heat. I think I have a wire grounding out somewhere.
