Sorry to hear about the tube getting "KILT".

Still need to shackle the boy and can't forget the muff to keep him quite. 2 years old,, you know why now.
If I had that much energy, I'd die from heart failure.

nite you guys... one last weather check. Tomorow will be busy. If we do get the ice they are talking, will be offline since the satelite internet gets no reception when its covered in ice...looks like they are likening this to the 2007 ice storm...

so does anyone have some good cold weather soup and bean recipes??

Evening Quenston,

You caught us signing off for the night. There are still a few peeping toms and a couple of lurkers hanging out.

Every day this side of the dirt is great.

Have a good evening and May God Bless.

Memory starting to fail me.

TJ's Na-Na :

Gees, why do guineas have to be such yucky birds?
Uncle Jack butchered 30 young ones and brought
me a couple of them and I fried them for supper.....
Good grief, they are soooooo good............ To me,
tastes like a cross between pheasant and cube
steaks. Maybe if I muzzled them I could stand them
for 4 months.........

Hope you guys have checked out the Farmer's Almanac
link that was posted earlier. I sooooo don't want to
be the bearer of bad news on here. They have changed
our "anticipated ice accumulations" here at Tahlequah,
and it ain't good news. 3/4 of an inch of ice will lock
this area down for a good while. Am hoping and praying
that the "Almanac" is wrong for the rest of February.
Have spent the day laying in gas for the generator,
pellets for the stove, grub for the natives, etc. And,
now gotta find some lamp oil somewhere......cause
Pa-Pa and TJ went ahead and fired up the darned
incubator and that will take my lamp plug-in....

Take care everybody !

Are those guineas all dark meat?

The boss, Teva, oked the trip to pick up the extra roosters but she doesn't yet know what day next week her day off is so I will get with you as soon as she knows. Somehow we will get the rest of them to Michael too if that's ok.

That sounds fine. Just let me know when. I work out of town on MWF, but am usually in town on the other days. My husband is only 3 miles from the house at any given time during the day. He could come and meet with you. I'm sure Michael will be pleased to get the extras. I ended up putting the EEs and the black pullet in the big coop tonight, so that I could put the new Serama cockeral in with my pullet. They are in a brooder by themselves. The EEs have staked out their place in the lower nest box and refuse to leave it. Hopefully they will be alright. There is a heat lamp in that corner, so that may be why they don't wanna leave. They had a heat lamp in the brooder because of the cooler weather and they were in with the Serama and she is just a bit spoiled.
