Teach I cant get much more of a cush job than bein a Surveillance supervisor, I sit at my desk and watch tv or surf the net lol

The 97 in my handle refers to my grad date! I think my current brother-in-law graduated in '85...I was a non-reg but loved bonfire. I killed many a tree. There is still a bonfire but not like it was...run totally seperate from the school and totally not endorsed. My nephew has particiapted a little too much! He had a pot...I cannot reveal the name of said pot...your hubby would understand! I have a degree in Animal Science from there and then went stupid and got a degree in AGed from Panhandle State with a couple minors and then did Grad school...

Surely you've gotten rid of the smell by now, but I'd just about bet that the dish detergent I have would take care of. I bought a bottle of Palmolive Ultra with Oxy plus Odor Eliminator, Spring Purity scent. It's great! It even does a great job on the dishes! I wonder how it would do on skunk odor?

I sure hope Tinker AFB shuts down because of the weather tomorrow. I need to stay home & clean house, but all I've managed to do is easy stuff like wash some clothes and dishes. Oh, and I washed our house dog today too.

When we lived in Owasso on 2 1/2 acres the local sheriff told us to shoot bothersome strays, but to be sure all four paws were on our property when we did it. I don't know what the rules are, but that's what he told us. Call your local sheriff's office. They'll know what's allowed.

I'm pretty sure the dog has to be in the act of harassing or attacking your livestock in order to be legal. From the Oklahoma statutes...

"§4-41. Animals chasing or injuring livestock - Right to kill - Liability of owner - Court proceedings - Definitions.
A. It shall be lawful for a person to kill any animal of the family canidae or the family felidae found chasing livestock off the premises of the owner of such animal if the person is the owner or occupant of the property on which the animal is chasing the livestock or if the person is authorized to kill such an animal by the owner or occupant of such property... "

What probably differs from place to place is whether or not it is legal to brandish or fire a weapon within city limits even for something like that.

Buster quoted the state statute and as I recall, you can call the sheriff and request that the owners pay to put down the dog if it is killing your poultry. Of course, that requires there to be a known owner to contact. Buster is correct, there is a distinction between a statute that allows you to shoot dogs killing your livestock and whether you could get into hot water for discharging a firearm within city limits. You might consider a shotgun as someone suggested, so the danger of having a projectile going beyond your property is diminished. When we used to be allowed to hunt deer on the McAlester Amunition Depot, it was shotgun only, because of the danger of bullets from regular guns penetrating a bunker where amunition was stored. I totally understand how seeing the carnage caused by dogs can cause you to change any emotions you have toward stray dogs.

Jaxon requested a peanut butter and jelly sandwich last night - made with the Mountain Dew jelly we got at POOPS. I really hope Gray Bear makes some more of that for the next POOPS auction - or share the recipe for it.

Actually, the odor lingers on. Not as strong, but I wouldn't want to be eating popcorn or anything else that would repeatedly bring my hand close to my nose.

Our yard is covered with something white. It was sleeting when I laid down for a nap, so don't know if it is sleet or snow, but I imagine that most things will be shut down tomorrow.

Yes, I bought a chicken basket with three kinds of jelly, including one made from Mt. Dew. Doesn't have a distinctive flavor, but it is good on a peanut butter/jelly sandwich and the light green color is cool.
