Okies in the BYC The Original

Hey yall~~~ Hope everyone is well, we are doing great here just enjoying the snow lol, we still have power and havnt lost it!! We are praying for the ones that dont have power and that they are faring well!! We went out to feed this morning and found my DD Blue cochin dead looked as though something killed it but no signs of how it got in!!! We also lost a barred rock but I am not sure from what!! Well hope everyone has a great evening!!

Sorry I disappeared to take a much needed bath. The hot water felt really good. I am also uploading more pics to my Flickr account. They are pics of my birds in the snow, eating lettuce, playing tetherball. There are also pics of my dogs and one of the ferrets. I also took my first pics of the Silkies today. There are a few pics of just the ice and snow.

Hi Carah- we are still here, down the hill from ya, can't get out of course, news said muskogee got 4 inches....not down here, we got 7, kept the power, lost internet for a bit- here is what my chickens think of snow, they'll only come out to where they can keep their feet off the snow! and boy are they crabby tonite! had half a mind to let em out to run in the snow, but thought better of that, too easy of a target for a hawk..

For everyone that asked about Cityclucks, she is fine & hasn't lost power. She said to say "HI OKIES". She has been working alot & is out of town now.

Hi ya Robin. I have to agree, we got more than 4" but hey why should they be right now.

My chickens are cranky too. One of my easter eggers showed up on my front porch, have no idea how she got out, she isn't one that will normally let me pick her up but she was either too cold or something & let me pick her up & take her to the coop. I will post some pictures later.

Ohhhh I hate it when something comes to kill likestock and chickens....sorry about your loss Q. Nothing is more disheartening to find one of yours dead, but then finding that it was another animal that killed it. On top of that to not know WHAT it was is frustrating.

Our chickens also LOVE cabbage--they have a shark-like feeding frenzy when we put one out there. We reserve those treats for when we have to lock them in from bad weather.
