Yeah, I know. I looked on their website a little while ago. They definitely have better protein & calcium levels in their feed. Also, I saw where their company delivers to neighboring states including Oklahoma. I guess maybe I should call them & see where the nearest dealer is. It might be worth driving a longer distance & buying more in bulk for quality feed.

Ok ...that would be great if they had a place close by all the feed stores went out of biss around hear so i have to drive aways to get feed anyway. Maybe we could get a feed store near you to sale it. I no alot of people that would buy it.

I wish we knew of someone that owns a feed store to get some in Central Oklahoma. Anybody have feed store owner contacts? Here's MFA'S Dealer Inquiry info page http://www.mfa-inc.com/web/guest/dealersupply

Robin,

I have light brahma chicks in my grow-out pen. They were hatched December 31, so they're still pretty small.

sounds good to me, even if they are little guys- how do you tell who are pullets at that age? you aren't that far from me...

Haskell is 30 minutes west of Muskogee.

I'm not great at telling the sex of light brahmas until they are about 4 or 5 months old. Before that I look for much bigger feet (male) and redness above the beak (male). I'd be happy to bring all of them to Muskogee with the ones I think are pullets marked. You could look them over and decide.

Another option is to wait until POOPS, at which point Al or someone who is more familiar with the breed could look at them and say for sure who the pullets are. They will be four months old by May 1st. Let me know what you prefer. I won't sell any of them until you have had first pick.

Stupid chicks...why do they like swiming so much? Had 4 out there took out another four and now have 5...only like 3 quail out of the 8 I took out there...stupid cold and bad eggs

Macy has a frog pond by the house an she catchs the tadpoles an puts thim in a old bathtub so the chickens cant get thim. Then she takes thim to town to a lady that has a big green house so they can eat hear bugs. The very first time i met Okcarla i got a baby redear from hear an Macy kept it in a fish bowl for a while then she put it in with the tadpoles. that thing grew fast an all you can eat buffet ...

well, let me do some researching and get a feel for how to tell- the 3 i got from al were supposed to be pullets...

OK you have to give the poor girl the benefit of the doubt, I did snatch her from her pen after dark! That is enough to FREAK anything out!!
I was just sooooo excited to show her off! I LOVE her ssooooo much!! I will just need to spend more time with her.

Well the big game is FINALLY over!! We are watching the Rookie now. I can't wait for baseball season.

Hi ya Teach, how close is Caney Valley to you? Shaun has an academic bowl there on Saturday. If it was close enough, maybe we could have lunch!

Queen Scoot is moving into her new house this weekend!

She will soon have her chickens back!!

What is on the menu for this POOPS? Is it going to be hot dogs and hamburgers/ chips and dips? I sure want to go this year, I thought about just booking a cabin and that way we would HAVE to go!

Robin,

I'll take pictures of the light brahma tomorrow after work and post pictures on the thread. I'll band the ones I think are pullets. They are just over a month old, so it may still be hard to tell the sex of each chick.

When I had surgery on my face to remove a very bad mole (melanoma) I told everyone John hit me with a busted beer bottle.

After my second surgery I was cut from temple to jaw, I bruised all the way the way to my chin. I told everyone I got in to a fight being a bouncer at a strip club.

As everyone knows John is as mild mannered as they come.

I Love to make people go..UH??
