Its hard to find the Standard Columbian Wyandotte with good color and type, but I have them. I will put you on my list. It is fairly long but only because I just have a trio so it takes a while to get a few chicks. they are great layers but i have people ordering 20 at a time.

B52 that does sound odd doesn't it??

lets see the dang dog gets me up at 3:30 ish, he's an old guy, blind etc... so i check online stuff, scrub the kitchen, drink a couple cups of coffee... so now i'm awake... biggest dilemma right now... what am i ever gonna do with PJ???

1) should i integrate her into the banties
2) should i get her some cochin buddies? and make a second coop and run??
3) get a diaper and let her be a house chicken... not a good alternative

and donna... is she just a jealous hen to go after the girls after roo has romanced them?? what is the deal on that?

Robin : You are making the whole dueling chicken thing get out of hand, there chickens they will work it out it's called a pecking order and is totally natural and healthy for them. If you fret over every little squable they have you are adding fuel to the fire by seperating them when there is no need to do so. there are only a couple of ways to deal with it if it get's out of hand and none of them require getting them new friends and flocks to hang with, they are chickens they need to be chickens not in an Oprah crying circle. Robin don't wear yourself out about it, your driving yourself nuts worrying about there mental health, it's silly.

It will take some time Robin & she may be aggressive enough to go right back to head hen.

oh....so maybe i'll just keep an eye on it- she is my only RIR and most the time isn't a problem, not sure what the deal is, unless she is jealous?

Robin : If at any point they beat the snot out of one of them and draw serious blood, yes the others will go after her. But if you seperate her till she heals and return her to the flock, that would be your fault for adding to the mess as it will most likely happen again. That is when you take the weak ones out and sell them or put them on the dinner plate, this is the way we do it in the real world.

The best thing to do if you see blood is to put something on it to stop the bleeding but leave her in the pen..... If it gets really bad then yes you need to remove her for good. But in general, hens will pick on each other some and bring alittle blood when they are trying to adjust. If it gets to were they are harming her too much then remove her let her heal. When ready set her back in the pen in a cage for a few days. They will get use to her and not peck her as much when you let her out of the cage..... But the worst thing you could do is constantly remove her and put her back cause then the pecking just starts all over again.... They are chickens, it is perfectly natural for them to pick on each other some and yes hens and rrosters both will find a favorite.

That would be great if Cement's barn gets additional space! So the show could be bigger? How many birds were actually entered this time.
