That would be great if Cement's barn gets additional space! So the show could be bigger? How many birds were actually entered this time.

I think Jason mentioned that it was around 400 birds since they had only one judge and he could only do 400 a day. He also said when I asked if he would include LF next time he said probably not, I do commend them for putting on a good show.

I tend to disagree, yes what they are doing is normal chicken behavior but there are times when you have a hen or roo that is mean to the point that they are the one's that need to be put on the dinner table. There is nothing wrong with wanting to keep all your chickens happy. If she doesn't want to get rid of either chicken then it is unfair to the little cochin to get beat up daily & most likely not get enough food (due to the pecking order) to not do something about it. When she heals if you put her back in with the hens & it happens again I would move her to the banty's, if that doesn't work then you have a choice to make.

I don't see anything on the calendar about the OKC zoo yet. Maybe it will be posted but so far we don't know anything about it.

4 H Zoo Snooze March ,2010
Come spend the night at the OKC Zoo and learn from the Zoo personnel about many of the similarities and differences that your pet have in common with wild animals. Then venture outdoors for a night hike through the zoo. The hike will be followed up by 4 h activities.
in the morning we will slip out for an early tour while the animals are having breakfast. The rest of the day is yours to spend at the zoo. make plans today,it's sure to be a "Wild" time.
Registration is due in the OSU Extension office by March 4th.

Thanks!! I found it on our newsletter. I will check with Maddie when I get home tonight. I am sure she will want to go & hopefully there won't be anything else that weekend.

Anyone bringing chickens or anything else to the Fletcher sale this Saturday, Please let me know so that when I do the Advertising, I can advertise your Items with the other consignments that I advertise..... I find that this really helps... So buyers kinda have a heads up on what will be at the auction already....
Thanks!

Howdy!

Yo Stimpy! I am doing my lesson plans waiting on lunch! Then I will help a friend with her economics...eventually i will go home and play with my birds

I had a cool looking minx cat in my yard today...I do believe some of my ladies are starting to cycle...we heard some strange sounds the other day and the wife asked what is that...I told her a love song...I can't repeat what she said...it was both religious, political, and not family oriented

Good morning and happy belated Valentines day and Happy Presidents day to my fellow okies! I feel a little happier today. We have hatching still going on today, started last night. It is really strange though. I have one that has popped out that is all black with black legs and no feathers on the feet. I am not opening the bator yet to take too close of a look, but I am a little confused as to what he/she is since they should have feathered feet or if they don't they should be RIR and this one is not looking red like the ones that I am seeing coming out of the RIR eggs. Hmmmmmmm, any suggestions or does sometimes a RIR throw a black chick with black legs?
