I haven't made it to one of your auctions yet but I hope to in the future. I'll say this about spaghetti, I can't eat it without getting it all over my face and shirt. For that reason I never eat it away from the house. Maybe stick with a nice chili instead. And contrary to what Monty says, real chili does indeed have beans.

I don't get to your auctions (except this weekend) but pulled pork or beef & BBQ are one of the things that I do in the summer time when we have get togethers. I use my crock pot for that. I also do a cheesy chicken soup over or on the side nacho chips. It is more like a dip than a soup.

Hoggie type sandwiches are always a hit too.

Hi guys... well so far PJ is doing ok with the one exception of CT the other roo, we are starting to have squabbles over the girls, so am thinking he needs to be rehomed- he isn't mean at all, just to few hens for 2 roos, let me know if anyone is interested....

I just wanted to say I think it is great that Fletcher has started an auction. I support them 100%. You guys are very nice people and you really do try to make everyone happy and your open to suggestions. That makes a big difference! I would attend if we didnt have our auction on Saturdays too. Maybe I can in November! Its alot of work to start a new auction and get the word out and build your customers. Just keep working hard and you guys will do great. There's really not that many "established" auctions in Oklahoma that have been here for years.

Even tho our sale has been around for at least 30 years that I know of , people still assume were not there anymore because they havent been there "since they were kids". But we are!! We shut down the Saturday of Thanksgiving week and decided to go check out the Prague Auction. There were people there talking about how "Guy Rose shut down for the winter"! The only time we close is Thanksgiving and Christmas but people always think we are closed for the winter. We just keep advertising and talking to people so they know were still here. Its hard to make it thru winter being an outdoor auction. Other than those two holidays were always there every Saturday opne for business because we do sell more than poultry and we have alot of hay and firewood customers that depend on our weekly sale.

So hang in there and keep working hard, the word will get out and you'll get more and more customers. As far as your prices of birds compared to Blanchard, a person really cannot compare...because it all depends on how many people are at that auction that day wanting that bird. Last Spring some RIR laying hens brought $24 and customers couldnt believe it! But it all depends on who's there and who is bidding. You just cant predict it.

We wish you guys all the best of luck. Keep working on it, if you can make it thru this winter, you'll have bigger and better sales this Spring & Summer. This weather has been terrible for all the local sales.

If your having a sale when we are closed for the holidays I plan on attending!!! I also hope there will be some "Death by Chocolate" that day too!!

Hi everyone!

Well I am home today feeling like... you all just do not want to know.

I would like to go to the Fletcher auction this weekend just not sure if I am going to be able to make it of not. Especially if this "what ever I have" does not go away. It is wonderful that we have several auctions going at this time. That gives people from all over the state get a chance to find an auction close to them. Of course some of us are willing to drive long distances for an auction. Does this mean that we are addicts???

Yes, yes I know that was a really dumb question.

Last night before my insides decided they wanted to be outsides, I placed an order through Purely Poultry for the end of March delivery. Got baby turkeys, Salmon Favorelles, Birchen Cochin and Millie Fleur D'uccle coming.

Planning to put an order in with Ideal next month for more turkeys and really need to share an order with someone since they require you order 10 poults and I only need 5-6. They will not be sent until the middle to late part of April so anyone interested would have time to get things ready for turkeys. Honestly turkeys are my favorite baby bird. I love the "piff, piff" sound they make and the three tone trill that they will talk to you if you make that sound. So if someone want to go in with on an order it would be greatly appreciated.

I think I am going to go climb back into bed. I am really tired.

Have a good day okies!
