Well, I went to the barn to start getting things cleaned up after the FFA had their spring livestock show and boy am I tired... After cleaning the barn, I went into town and picked up ingredients for "Death By Chocolate" Cake....

When I got home I found a Guinea and a duck lying on the ground dead... Looked as if their necks were broke. Went in to the hen room and found 2 more ducks that were injured. One had a couple small puncture wounds and the other had big holes ripped in her.. I sewed both of them up, gave them a shot of pennicillin and put corona ointment on them... They both seem to be doing ok just a little shook up.

Ok, CT the brahma roo is on the first leg of his journey to his new home....THANKS SOONER!!... the others were funny when i got home, they were in the coop rearranging sitting spots- and kept looking around for him, pj particularly was cautious looking around...

got the run cleaning done today, what a soggy mess! still collecting chicken pics to make into notecards for poops, so if anyone has any favs, i welcome em!!

Big Okie - Thank God you and your family are
OK. Prayers for fast healing for BJ. That is
a tragedy, for sure. Did you have
homeowners insurance? We have priced it,
but if you live out in the country, it's priced
out of this world.

When you have had a bit to regroup and
know what you want to do, get back on
here with your list. Seems there are a
bunch of nuts on here that wouldn't miss
an auction for anything.....not just the
chicken auctions, either. Pa-Pa happens
to be one of them. So.........................
pots and pans, dishes, towels, linens,
silverware, furniture, ................
Am sitting here trying to imagine what
it would take to regroup. Bless you guys.

wow- my brain is dizzy! ok, our run is 10 x 20, and the mud pit- aka driveway is 20 x 20... hmmm - math was never my strong point- my dad nursed me through algebra- never could get my brain wrapped around it- anyway, i guess a minimum would be for the run, which is pretty much rock rock with about 2 inches of soil on it

Ok that would be 6 ton of sand for the run at 6 inches deep and 13 tons of rock for the drive at 8 inches deep.

For the drive I would use 1 1/2 crusher run, It has fines in it that will pack and set the rock.

Don't feel bad Robin it even taxed my brain, when I worked road construction I used charts and books that had all of this layed out for me.
