Okies in the BYC The Original

Ok I just have to let you all know that Uli shot his first opossum tonight. This sucker has been plaguing us for quite a while and is probably responsible for a lot of my birds deaths. Stupid thing has been coming out around 8pm every night for over a week now. Uli sits out side to smoke and by the time he calls in for me to bring the gun to shot it, the thing takes off. He decided to take the gun out with him tonight and got it. Mind you all that this is the first time he has ever shot a gun. I told him his new name is Opossum Bain. this was the look I got

but I think he is actually proud he did it. I tried to get him to hold it up in one hand, the gun in the other so I could take a picture but he said he did not want to touch it. So I carried it out to the back to throw over the fence. Go figure! Oh and there is a hugh 500 acre pasture behind our property so I was not throwing the dead opossum into someones backyard just so you all know.

We are planning to go to Fletcher tomorrow night. The Death by Chocolate and batting my eyes at Uli convenced him to make the trip with me. So you all better save us at least two slices and I think Mr. Opossum Killer is interested in the chicken n noodles, which he thinks is wrong to serve at a chicken auction. I assured him it was totally appropriate thing to do, what else would you do with the chickens that do not sell.

So Carla what kind of turkeys are you going to bring. Bourbon reds

I have 12 poults coming from 2 different hatcheries that will be here the end of March and first of April.

I started a list of items some of you have offered to help our friend. I do not know how to send out mass PM's. Is there a place I can set up a list like we do for like the POOPS stuff that will remain in compliance with BYC's policies?

Debating going to Atwoods after I make it to Marys swap meet tomorrow (which is looking to be around 930-10 since I have to tag my #*@% car). But I don't really want to go to Atwoods, because then I'd have to tell J's son that no, we're not buying any chicks.

I have 7 Lamancha Does and 1 Mini Mancha, and so far all that they have hatched were bucklings, I still have 4 to go maybe another Doeling with show up.. I just love baby goats ..they make me laugh until I cry

I love goats too and they drive me crazy at the same time.... Everytime I go to put them up for sale, I back out because I love my Sophie and Baby girl to much and I know its not their fault they get into everything when they are out free ranging...lol and I swear they call me Mom when they start crying out for me when they dont see me but hear me when I am out and about in the yard..

Even jason says I dont have a true heart to down size the only two nubians we have at this time especially when my desire is to breed them come fall so I can have me some fresh goat milk.. YUM O

You know the grass will come on in another month and things will start looking a lot different for you. I will type out a story that was recounted to me by an older farmer but it will take me a few minutes.

I think the winter and working on alot of things has allowed me to grumble to much over the abundant blessings I have been bestowed with this past year, and come Spring I know I will be so happy as will the animals.. I wonder though if animals get S. A D ? also.. things that make you go hmmmmmmm

Marys is different. C is a 5 year old... he'll be confused enough by it that I'll only get a question once or twice about buying stuff. At a *store*, he is CONVINCED that one is supposed to buy stuff.

Oh, and right now the "should be done" date is Tuesday.

I also got to admit I am a bit peeved tonight that involved an incident with a friends former occupant of the womb(daughter) who in a sense was encouraging her dogs to go "kill the kitty" well the dogs got all excited and went after the cat to which they got the cat and proceded to let it maul over it the cat escaped up the tree but you could tell it was not going to make it as it fell down the tree... I was hotter than a pepper sprout

hollering at all the dogs to leave it alone, hollering at friends daughter for encourgaging it... concerned about my own two kids who I did NOT want traumatized over what was going on... It was so bad that the cat was barely alive that I had to holler for "gun control" tried to get the friends daughter to shoot it out of its misery because SHE instigated its initial death but she couldnt do

it so I grabbed the gun to put the poor feline out of its misery when the darn gun jammed

handed it back over to my friend so she could fix it since she knew her gun better than me... it took several shots before the cat finally was dead.. .. I again was SO ANGRY tonight than I had been in a long while over something like this that I could have just strangled her daughter... who btw tried to deny any wrong doing... so myself and her mother had to call her liar when myself, my children, my husband and another friend were all right there when the chaos broke out... only to learn that her daughter hates cats no matter what.. which to me I get ok fine not everyone likes certain animals but that does not mean you should enjoy watching it get terrorized and then play off like its nothing..

So I am going to let this all out as so you all know who I am .. I dont do animal cruelty when it comes to sicking dogs on cats just for the hell of it... please dont make jokes because this was not something I enjoyed trying to calm my kids down over... I am all for protecting your live stock and hunting deer, fishing ect for food, I guess its the sinister behaviors that I find disturbing... whew I feel better. thank you all for being my counselor couch this evening

Teva got two little Lamancha bucks yesterday. Cute little fellas too.

Did Teva get them from Jerry of Blanchard auction fame? I got my LaMancha bucklings at the Blanchard auction last week. Jerry said that he should have 4 female LaMancha bottle babies in the auction next week. There was only one doeling last week.
