I have heard this same thing.

Nice thing about Texas, they don't charge like Oklahoma if you are late on getting your tags. Unless, you get pulled over and get a ticket there is no penalty at all, even if you haven't updated your cars tags in over a year or two. We had a blazer that the tags weren't updated for a couple of years, because we weren't driving it. And even if you don't get pulled over and get a ticket I am not sure they even know this, bcs they just ask if you have and seem to take your word for it. Another good thing about TX tags they are a lot cheaper than OK tags.

California has the largest price... Crazy...

I'm just gonna stay home and nap today. I might watch some tv, or I might just watch it rain. I'm flexible like that.

Al, you're working too hard. Take a break and recharge your batteries. I remember what that was like, working every waking hour like that. You're afraid to turn a job down because you don't know where the next one might be. But it's good to know that your material costs are a bit lower. That's more money that you can spend on birds.

Picked up an australorp hen from P&B's... she took the cockerels to Marys and swapped them for a hen from Michael. I think I got the better end of that deal... the hen is so pretty

On the way to pick up the hen, I stopped by Lumber 2 for something. Walked out with 4 RIR pullet chicks.

Donnie - Under your name it just says Oklahoma. If
you're thinking about coming to Pryor, am thinking
you might be here in NE Ok. We're in Tahlequah,
and there are a bunch of us in this corner of the
state. If you want, let us know where you are.

If you want to "ease in"....just watch for Pa-Pa...
"Bill"....LOL He's 6'4", will probably have on a blue
T-shirt that has "the" chicken on it, will be "yacking"
with anyone that will stand still, and will be carrying
a 4' + plus walking stick that he made because of
a bad knee.......LOL Now, mind you, it might
be an hour before you get to meet any of the
rest of us...........LOL

Welcome to the gang !

Well, I had a very good time this morning at mary's Swap Meet.
I got to visit with Sooner, Maribeth and her husband (he is quite a trooper and deserves a blue ribbon). Also Teach, Michael, Jerry and Misti.
I must say it was the least turnout I have ever seen at Mary's. The place is usually packed when the weather is nice but it was not busy at all today.
I came out great! I took a trio of birds and brought home an empty cage. I was very very happy with that transaction.
I would tell anyone planning on going, especially those raveling very far to check the weather because when it is cold and rainy things are slow.
Teach and I went to lunch and knocked down the profit margin for the owners at the Chinese buffet.
We had a good time talking. Mostly about killing stuff and putting their remains on our walls and in our freezers.
Surprisingly we didn't talk much about chickens. We did most of that at the swap.
I was gonna explain to him about the colored lights that hang over the intersections here and what Red, yellow and green means but he said he had seen them before and believe it or not he once lived in a big city.
I hope everyone has a good time at Fletcher tonight. Jared has a ball game so that is where I'll be.
Enjoy the cake it sure sounds yummy.

It sounds like everybody is having more fun than me today! Chicken swapping and auctions, I wish they could have been in my schedule. Instead I just got back from ripping 2x4's into 2x2's for some tractors and growing out pens I am going to try and get on, as well as my big bird barn/shed/multi-sectioned coop. Yay for me! Now what to do in this dreary mopey day!
