Wafers for the thermostats are available from Atwoods, Lumber 2, almost anywhere that sells poultry supplies - generally for $10 or less. The wafers need to be replaced periodically, since they can corrode and fail to hold temperature. Was that the GFQ that she bought at Fletcher on the 20th? The one that was "working all the way" according to the seller?

Hey Doc,
Just to let you know you can buy an new electronic thermostate on ebay for around $15 (shipping included). I am going to buy one after we get back from NY to retrofit my havobator.

How is an electronic thermostat different than a wafer thermostat and do you need to make any modification to "retrofit" the Hovabator? What would I enter as the "search" term on ebay?

You just need 5000 posts, I think that's the last title change you get for the posting levels.

I can see me now, playing the "count as high as you can before a moderator posts" game every time I log on to BYC, so that I can get my post count up. Maybe if I did that 3 times a day for the next year, I might eventually make it to 5000 posts.
