We got our first turkey egg today. At least, I think it's our first turkey egg. It's in a combo pen of Narragansett turkeys and mixed marans. It isn't much bigger than a marans egg, but it is almost white with light speckling .... looks like a turkey egg. I'm calling it a turkey egg

We've only gotten 2 guinea eggs so far, and both were in the mud. So, I tossed them. We'll be selling the guineas this spring when prices are up. They aren't are favorite birds, and we really need to downsize.

Who all is going to Cement on Saturday night?

almost white with speckles certainly sounds like a Narragansett turkey egg. It may be a first time turkey hen egg that will get larger. Of course, your maran eggs are pretty good size so then again, maybe not much larger.

I am planning on going to Cement tomorrow night, unless something changes.

Yea!

Sorry sweetie we missed you but we got swindled into going to a items auction in Chickasha and we picked up some things for our selves and we had alot of fun and enjoyed ourselves.... We made out with an antique oil lamp... a small igloo ice chest for jason(a new lunch box for him).. a wall clock that sounds off like a choo choo train on the hour... a few head rags for Jason and our son when they go ride the Harley and Jason was able to pick up some clear plastic sheeting that you use to allow light in your barns or shop( the name alludes my mind... I am tired)...

But believe me our son was wondering why we werent there at Trivets tonight for the cat fish...

Jeannie

Oooooh .... I might would have rather gone to a cool auction over eating delicious catfish .... I sure liked that catfish though .... & hushpuppies & coleslaw and pinto beans & french fries & all I could eat fresh fried catfish. I didn't know Gerald could eat so much

Morning robin....and everyone else that is silly enough to be up at this hour on the weekend. LOL

I think I'm going to run down to the Chupps auction. I haven't had a chance to go forever. It will be dangerous for me to go...never liked to window shop and not get anything. LOL

Hey all...I have 4 pair of Mille Fleur d'Ucle that I need to sell. Is anyone going to Blanchard that would want them? If not is there anyone that might want them at POOPS. We're are trying to downsize and I'm having to choose...
barnie.gif
so I guess it will be them. They've just started to lay for the first time. They are very pretty and they are one of the hardiest little birds...didn't lose any of them through the rough winter storms... they would come out and strut through the snow.

I also have a few others that I'll be selling. Will get a list on soon. I hate doing this, but we're taking another direction with our breeds and I need the room to house the others until we move. It's been hard to make this decision but I knew it's been coming and have put it off all winter.

So if anyone is interested in the mille f'leur's let me know ASAP cause I'm going to put them on craigslist if not.

Have a Blessed Day

Roy : Yeah there is this really cool Filipino fresh fish market in Lawton, they get shipments on ice every friday all live or gilled & gutted fresh caught whole fish. Today I got that 20lbs of crab 3 super nice snappers whole and some 20/20's of shrimp. they have fresh muscles and clams and raw fresh Oysters, it's a great place. next month they start to get in the Crawfish by the 30lb bag live fresh, I have an order in already.

AL

How are their prices? comparable to the grocery stores?

You have sparked my senses and we love shrimp and crabs and gosh I have not had crawdads aka crawfish in many many years we used to catch them when I was a kid...

That's what I had planned but I thought if anyone was coming to Blanchard that would want them it sure would help to get the pen emptied so I could use it. They're such good birds that I would love someone to take them that really wants some of that kind.

i always get up early- kinda hard to sleep once it gets light..LOL!

went by tsc yesterday- really frustrating in their chick selections- apparently they aren't breed specific, very annoying- so as i mentioned before, went by orchlens, who are a bit more knowledgable- i always glance at the banties just in case some silkies are in- love those foofoo birds- so yep they had them.... so beside the feed stuff i get i came out with a couple- i hope are pullets-

will get more pics today. And those LB pullets from Poco are so docile and trusting! really sweet girls, so if anyone wants to get some from her- i say go for it!

say, is anyone going down towards fletcher any time soon? pj would surely like to get down there sometime soon...LOL!

If Carla is already getting lots of turkey eggs, I am jealous. I have yet to find a single turkey egg.

I just put 18 in my 'bater on Tuesday.

Of course, the hens came from Carla's stock. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Well to start it's not Walmart chinese frozen fish, and everything at walmart is precooked. these are all fresh caught, the prices are good for the crabs and crawfish but they aren't boat dock prices, some of the hard to get fish can be pricey but for special occasions it Ok. The crawfish can be ordered in 30lb bags on Wed and pick up on Friday.

Live Blue crabs= $2.75 lb
" Crawfish = $2.99 lb
Red Snapper = $ 6.99 lb
fresh head on shrimp= 10/20's $ 8.99 lb
It was really busy so I didn't get the prices on all of the stuff they had and some was gone when I got there late.
