Thanks P&B. I think the bulb was defective or something... it'd only been on for about 2 days. I switch them out pretty regularly.

Guess this means I'll have room for ducks, but this isn't how I wanted to do it.

I'm still debating if I want to chance straight run. Every time I get straight run, I end up with 10 cockerels and 2 pullets, ya know?

In a perfect world, I'd say 2 blue runner pullets and 1 blue runner drake.

I think blue runners is what I am going to order for myself. The only problem with ducks is that it is difficult to identify their gender, unless done by the hatchery, until they develop that cute curled tail feather to identify them as drakes and by then they are several months old. Sort of like trying to identify the gender of silkies - tough to do until one crows or lays an egg.

Yes I like the uniqueness about Slapout plus the "area" is really pretty, we just love it out here of course it's not much of a town and yet I call it home... Kids go to school at Balko.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya as well

It was a hard year all at once this winter it hit cold and hard but with out the snow and I think it just tossed some of the birds into shock.. I lost my red hen, a silver male, & 1 goose to the quick weather change, than 3 geese & 8 ducks to a hungry bobcat... in 2 nights

today it's still cloudy and very windy.. the sun is tries to peek out but it's just not sure if it wants to yet.

Yeah, I think I want them sexed at the hatchery. I really don't want to feed all drakes.

Once upon a time, I bought some Teeswater fleece from a lady named Barbara out in Slapout

Beautiful fleece, and the area was gorgeous.

4dabirds - HOWDY NEIGHBOR!!!! I teach in Hardesty! glad to know there is someone with some pheasants. There is a sale April 3 at the Meade County Fair grounds...are you going? They usually have several pheasants. How old are the kiddos? My oldest (5th grade) played football this year.

Gotta go first bell!

Hi everyone.

Teach you are a hoot. 4dabirds sorry you lost so many during the weather. If it is one thing this group can do it get you all the birds you are looking for! Faerie, sorry you lost you babies! If you were closer I would sneak a couple of mine to you! Madison has already picked out two that she wants to keep. I don't know that I can do that......I have no where to put them!
