I'm so happy for you at your new place - I know it will be struggle for awhile to get everything up and going how you want it, but I'm so glad you have a roof over your heads. And your priorities are still aligned - setting eggs to hatch already.

Now, if only you could find a way to make it to POOPS...!!

Hi everyone as you know P.O.O.P.S will be May 1st . There will be one meal this year. Most of the meat (thanks to our P.O.O.P.S fund from the fall) will be taken care of so we will be looking mainly for side dishes, deserts, casseroles, paper products, cutlery & drinks.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in, chicken & dumplings were a big hit along with that banana pudding. Keep in mind the number of people (aprox. 100) that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

If you volunteer to bring drinks, paper products or cutlery please tell me the quantity you will bring, also the drinks will need to be on ice. I will also need 2 of the large drink coolers to make kool -aid & tea.

I will need volunteers to help with setting up the meal & cleaning up after.
Please PM me with Food in the subject line with what you plan to bring.
I will keep a running list to post from time to time.

BetsyOK-Spoonbred Tamale Bake, made with ground bison~Cake or desert. (oven)
Les NNbreeder- Bannana pudding
QueenPeaches/Doc- 200 dinner plates
200 forks
200 spoons
200 knives
200 napkins
200 coffee cups
200 drink cups
20 trash bags
1 drink cooler
1 ice chest
CityClucks 2 paper towels
12 dinner rolls

Paper products are taken care of. We may need a couple of rolls of paper towles for cleaning up ect.

Sooner, I have first dibs on ALL of the partridge cochines you bring, so you know that you will have that much room anyway.

I don't know if I will even get enough hatched to bring them. Only having three hens for eggs with one on strike seems to be slowing me down! LOL>

Carah...are your partridge cochins standard or bantam? If mine keep laying I should have some standard partridge for POOPS. Right now I have a ton of eggs waiting to go in the hatcher. I think I'm going to have to put them in a styrophome bator.

I have Buff, blue, and splash orps, partridge cochins, a ton of polish, silkies, showgirls, americanas, and a bunch of mixed. I have every bator going full blast.

I wish you could just turn the heat up and hurry them up to get cooked. LOL

Gotta go check the hatcher....have 92 eggs that are supposed to hatch tomorrow....gonna check for any early ones. Catch everyone later.

Okay. I voted. I decided I live in the 73105 zip code. That looks like a nice area. Although 73118 looks okay, too.

In the comments I wrote that it doesn't make sense to allow people to own a hundred pound dog, but not a few 8 pound chickens.

Here is the link to the survey again...

If this doesn't work, we should do like Georgia and pass a state law that outlaws the banning of chickens in the city limits. Then all us country folk and small rural city types can make the big cities do the right thing. These ordinances are just stupid and based on poor information. This is Oklahoma, for crying out loud, not Boston, Mass.

Which allows chickens, by the way. Irony, anyone?
