Hello all. We spent this fine, cold, windy, miserable day inside. We did some demo work and cleanup on the new house. We are now getting ready to head over to some friends' house for dinner and fellowship. We are grabbing pizza on the way. Hope everyone has fun at the auction or whatever you decide to do.

Cuban,
My Saipan Jungle Fowl pair roost in the barn at night and the hen has selected a nest site that is next to a hay bale and almost in a walkway - but since she has laid 7 eggs in the nest I am not going to disturb her location and am hoping she will go broody when she has a few more eggs there. I put two of her eggs under a different broody hen this week, so am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get some chicks out of the pair.

Last year she waited until the middle of summer to brood.

Maybe with that information, I should put these in the incubator.

They should be okay for a few more days, if you want to see. Broodiness is so hard to judge.

Well, I learned how to drive diagonally just so I could drive straight today!

I can't imagine getting much of anything done in this wind. I know I didn't have any luck. We started our day to fixing a water leak, then off to a soccer game, the ball was flyin! I then stopped by to see my grandma & later meeting up with POCO for more eggs! I also sold a pair of her chickens, so I was the pusher/dealer today. Another person close to me with chickens. So far four people on my street have chickens & soon to be five!

Talk about driving, reminds me of yesterday in McAlester. Somehow a car from Texas messed up a trucker right beside me. The car ended up sideways in the inside lane to keep from hitting a car stopped at a light in front of him. The semi was besides me and back a little. Brakes were screaching and his horn blaring. He ends up right beside me. He set his brakes and gets out of the truck. He walks up to the car and had a heated confab about the car drivers gene pool. The light turns green and that car couldn't get out of there fast enough. He was passing everything in sight to get away. Good thing he didn't get out, the trucker looked like he was ready to dish something out.

Better be careful there Mr.Q. That sounds like a deadly combination. What ya going to build.

Went to the local auction today. Only brought home a new EE bantam roo. He is blue spash with red saddle. There was the usual duds and a few nice birds there. I sold some bantam hatching eggs, only brought $1.75 but I didn't need them to go to waste. I lost my male quail so sold my 3 hens and they brought $10each! I paid $1.50 for them last summer. There was a beautiful pair of LF turkens that only brought $6.50 each,I just didn't have room for any large fowl. All in all it was an enjoyable day.

Q how many breeds do you have going now?
