Did you all hear on the news about the auto wreck in Kentucky yesterday. It was only about an hour north of us. Semi lost control and went across the medium and hit a bus/van full of menonites. Killed the truck driver and 9 members of one family in the van.The only survivors were two kids 3 &5 that the family had adopted!Really a sad deal.It was a well know family in their community and the mennonite community is really torn up as can be imangined.

I am up to 8 breeds now but some with a number of different colors etc. I am building a 14x24 coop I have most of my frame work done almost time to start putting on tin, that will be of course after the wind decides to quit being all crazy!!

Sooner, I have first dibs on ALL of the partridge cochines you bring, so you know that you will have that much room anyway.

I don't know if I will even get enough hatched to bring them. Only having three hens for eggs with one on strike seems to be slowing me down! LOL>

I will take every one you can get hatched. Thank you so very much.

WE take that as a compliment. Thank You.

I'm not sure of where 'Southeast" Oklahoma you are but there is "Supposed" to be an auction in Idabel every 3rd Saturday of the month.
We are from that area originally but haven't lived there since they started the auction, just heard from the internet. Hope this helps.
Hi-Jacker

Thanks City ,That helps a lot. Appreciate your taking the time to look those up. How are your girls doing? Are taken with the silkies yet!lol So sorry about the job deal. Maybe something even better is in the works. God always has a reason you know.

Hi Doodle! My chickens are doing great - gave me 12 eggs today - out of 12 hens, so I cannot complain! I have a little black silkie that will be in the POOPS raffle along with a bantam frizzle cochin cockeral. I'm keeping the little runt white silkie and two bantam frizzle cochin pullets just to see how they grow out. I'll probably end up getting rid of them sooner or later, but want to see what they're like.

Thanks for your thoughts on the job front - you are so right - things will work out how they are supposed to!

Your welcome. I live in Alderson, which is just outside of Krebs and McAlester. I think the closest auctions would be Maud, which I have been to, and Durant. There is one in McAlester, but last time I was there it was mostly food products and a few chicks that I had brought. Not good.

Our longtime ag teacher was from Fletcher.

I would dearly love to have some of your Quail D'Anvers. I am going to help Doc build a bantam chicken tractor, paint it green and place them quail d'anvers in there. That woud be a photo worth a million. They are such beauties.
