At least the trees aren't bent in half from the wind and there are patches of blue sky, unlike yesterday when it was a few degrees warmer but the wind and clouds made me wear a headband over my ears to stay warm. Love this Oklahoma weather. If nothing else, it always gives us something to talk about. Just think - we had snow on the ground last Saturday and Sunday.

Good morning!

Dale and I celebrated our birthdays together this past Dec. he is 60 years old. I'm not yet. He and Leroy must be related.

Woe. Retired Army, but was Dale ever in the Marines? Like in the late 60s/early 70s? And was he ever stationed at Alameda NAS?

I was stationed on (CV-43) USS CORAL SEA, home-ported in Alameda in 76-77, lot of people were there then.

Morning everyone. Speaking about the weather I was just telling my DH that usually the weather doesn't bother me too much...just kind of go with the flow...but man this stuff is getting very old. I need some sunshine and some time with my birds and not be playing in the darn mud with them. I had a big ole buff orp roo get excited yesterday in the pen and just splashed nasty mud all over me. I wanted to smack him for it. LOL

My mother used to let the weather dictate how her day was going to be and I swore that I WAS NOT going to be that way. So I guess I better get my attitude a little happy or I could be borderline acting like my mom. That's one trait I do not want to be like. She was a wonderful lady but that was not wonderful about her.

Please keep me in your prayers in the morning. I have to go to court in the am concerning my dad's estate. I am just so tired of this stuff...I kind of get to a place that I don't dwell on them both being gone and there we go again I have to go take care of something like this. I think it is almost over so maybe I can heal. I got a call this last week and was told that they have the head stone in for them so we have that ordeal to go through. I'll shut up now...but if you think about it say a prayer that it won't be too difficult to go through. I had a good cry yesterday just thinking about it. I miss them so much. I keep catching myself wanting to call them to ask a question about things that I'm trying to do...they had so much wisdom and I had so much respect for that.

If you are going to church hope you have a wonderful service. Everybody have a great day.

I remember the Coral Sea. I left Alameda for The Rock in March, 1975. Got to Alameda in Feb of 73.

I guarded nukes in what was called Alpha Area for part of that duty. Used to sit in the tower and watch ships come in and leave. Right next to the landing strip where all the fighter jets took off and landed.

The only ship in port I ever visited was the Enterprise. I was a big Star Trek fan in my youth.

He joined the Marines, went to VietNam and then got out. Joined the Army Rserves and retired last December.

Got it! Maybe he is the better bird for me, then. He will be penned with his own girls. He will not have to share space with any other roosters. I can't let my birds free range here because we seem to be hawk central. I'd love to have either of the two you've mentioned. If the roo with the 5 DC hens is not a good fit for your setup, then he's the one to taxi to POOPS. Send me a PM once you've thought it over.

Good morning everyone!

Just getting Around! DH has to go pick up his trailer that someone borrowed. I am trying to get the incubator setup and ready for eggs that I aquired last night. Thanks again Buster.

We got Monty's new birds (Parakeets) settled in the top part of my quail's condo cage until Al can get him the cage he gave us last night for them. You just cant hardly tell your baby NO when he falls in love with birds. He loves them and all birds of feathers. It runs in his blood, I guess the love for chickens and other poultry is hereditary.

Well, Hope everyone is having a great day!
