Thanks Betsy. I have some cattle electrolytes for weak calves it is very water soluble think that would be ok? The little fella is lookin better this afternoon still not up and running but not happy when you mess with him either. I have been slowly removing bits of shell and its almost all detatched the last bit I'll save for someone with smaller hands. My hands are so big I have trouble picking my nose much less a gosling naval. I'm afraid i'll tug too hard and out comes the guts I don't want to be that person. I decided against tying the naval off with suture it looks like the suture would just cut it in 2. Thanks for bumping me up a while ago sooner I gues there aren't many goose officials on today.

Sorry I didn't respond. Yes anything farm related is Ok for the auction although like Teach said different laws apply for hooved animals so we wouldn't be selling goats.
But, as for items used for goats or sheep that would be fine.
Al is keeping the list for auction donations so a pm to him would be fine.
If you want to donate it for the raffle then Grace is handling that.
Again sorry for not responding quicker.
We appreciate any and all things people do to make the event better.

Donna, thanks for the very kind words and your support for our event.
There will always be issues when anything of this magnitude is planned. I would hope if people do have issues, then to please let us know.
As for people wanting to volunteer but were discouraged I don't think that has been the case.
The only thing I can recall about that was last winter sometime and there were people saying "when is there going to be a spring POOPS. Who wants to put together. Who will do this?" And people started saying I'll do it. Who wiill help.
It was like there had never been an event before and then people were wanting someone to step up and start one. Like the two previous ones were just a dream.
I remember thinking " we already have the structure in place for the next one and as far as I know people wanting to do it."

I remember Carla posting and stating that Al and I had organized the other events and that she knew we would be making plans and would have an announcement and to volunteer to contact us.
It was very kind and supportive of Carla to do so.
I for one have never discouraged anyone from volunteering or wanting to help.
If I have ever said anything for it to come across that way then I apoligize.

EDITED TO ADD: If anyone wants to volnteer to help at POOPS in any capacity please send me PM.

Sponsored by the No Volunteers Left Behind Act of 2010.

Hey Monty,

As you might imagine, we don't have a lot of spare time with all of the auctions we do in a month's time.

If there is anything that we (Doc and Peaches and of course, HOT DOG) can do for P.O.O.P.S. or BYC, please let us know.

I know that sometimes I come-off a good bit rash but I don't mind helping anyway I can. I don't know everything even though I might act like it, but if I don't know something I'll learn and I don't mind being just a grunt in the firing line.

Yep. Shoot it with a gun from LONG RANGE.

Lol, well I've bad aim and no gun handy. Plus, I think the city folk frown on that type of thing. Called the police but they won't come out and the animal control guy has already gone for the day.

My actual experience is with chickens and guineas, but I'd think in this situation it would be about the same. I'd think you'd have to dilute the cattle electrolytes a lot for a gosling. I think the fluid and a bit of energy boost would be the important thing. Definitely do not pull on the umbilical cord. When it is fully dry, you can cut it, as suggested.

First, I hope you don't have any pigs!

Second. hold out some cat food in your habd and call, "Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty" DON'T FORGET, as it starts to follow you, walk in the direction of the police station and make a deposit inside their front door. Then, Run FOREST RUN.

The reason for not having a pig. He will squeal on you.
