I'm either gonna sell a quad and keep a trio, or sell a trio and keep a quad. Not sure yet. I want more layers and less project birds.

Thanks Michael, that's sweet

Now I gotta figure out whether 3 or 4, and which ones. I'm thinking Volcano the cockerel, and either a pullet & hen, or 2 pullets & a hen. Gonna keep the 2 girls I got from Wingshadow Hacienda (Thunder and Lightning), Tornado the cockerel, and I think Blizzard the pullet.

Michael What all do you raise? Are you in the Okc area?

Oh I may be in trouble, someone on craigslist has a scilian donkey for sale for $50! Its a jack but I still would love to have it. Wonder if I could hide it from the wife in the dog kennel?lolAnyone have any experience with mini donkeys-jacks in perticular.

Just like all of the others. The only difference is that they take a smaller mouthfull of flesh when they bite.

Just as loud as a full sized one too but a liitle higher pitched and more nasal. An eerie sound at 3am for sure. LOL

It just depends on how it was raised. Donkeys seem to have stronger friendship traits then horses do. If a horse doesn't like you chances are you can still ride it but may have trouble with it. With a donkey if they don't like you they will hurt you.

Most are laid-back and easy to get along with. If they were raised with a strong hand it may take a long while to gain their trust. There are actually accounts of mules and donkeys defending their riders against threats such as cougars or even bear.

As far as an intact male it is no riskier then a jenny. With our horses we have three stallions and a gelding all running together with no problems. Teva has rode all of them around mares in season and got narry a wimper out of any of them.

OKla-doodle-do It seem like you guy's down that way have alot more breed's of chicken's than we do up hear.My brother livd in Nashvilll Tenn. 4wile an liked going to the Amish sale's . We went to Dolly wood an the smokey mt. on vac. My grand dad was from N.C not far from dolly wood. I sure liked look'n at the pic's you took of the sale wer people road ther bike's an horse an buggy an Macy liked the box's of gin.pig's....
