I didn't like getting wet when I was a kid..well not in the rain...you couldn't keep me out of a pool or pond or ocean...they tried telling me there were snakes....I ran faster...told me there were aligators...I went back for a bigger rope...told me there were sharks...I went back for a bigger rod....

I do plan on having fun!!! I am not bringing the tent that leaks though!! Went camping last summer...made a poor judgement call...woke-up with water deep enough in my tent that I was wet...I was sleeping on a cot! The boys were floating around...it was bad...not doing that again!!!

Did any one get the e-mail on the 4h Creek Nation poultry and rabbit show May 22nd?
I want the girls to show so maybe I they should just start here? They have big mama
already but she needs health papers? shots and a leg band right? Will someone be at poops
that can do this?

I sure hope so MAllen Me & Al are bringing our Taco dogs. Surly if they allow chickens, ducks and bunnys they won't say anything about some little dogs,as long as they are restrained.

Got the oil changed ,feed supply layed in to last while we're gone. Got the wife's new bottle of hair col, oring(oops I proably shouldn't have told that,Don't nobody say anything,I know I can trust you guys!)

They told me yesterday that Dogs werent allowed in the cabins or in that area and not in vehicles. The only animals at the cabins are the chickens... So aslong as you are staying in a hotel it is fine. Thats why we cant stay at the cabins. We have a Dog and our friends have 2 dogs that cant be left at home.

My understanding , when I talked with the manager yesterday, we can have dogs there, they just arent allowed in the cabins, buildings, or to stay in the vehicles. The KOA website simply states this and states that They must be on a leash at all times no longer than 6 ft away from owners. If they are a know aggressive breed, owner must have insurance on them or they arent allowed.

Just a tidbit of info... here is the link: http://koa.com/petpolicy/

Thats what I was saying, we are staying in hotel since dogs are not allowed in cabins or buildings. We will bring them, but on a leash.

hey ya'll I can't get anyone to give me a response, so I copied and pasted from a thread I started. Just need some advice.

A week ago Sunday, my dog killed 8 of my 11 chickens. the three that survived are a BO, a Gold laced Wynd. and something I still haven't figured out. The GLW was injured after that attack, but was walking fine. Didn't limp or anything. About three days after the attack, she started laying down more and more to where now she doesn't walk at all. She eats fine, drinks and when I put her outside, she picks at bugs walking by and eats grass and weeds. She seems perfectly happy. Her poop looks just like the others. She just won't get up. After that attack I put the red light back in the coop (they are 8 weeks old) just to make sure they were warm enough since there weren't lots of chickies to keep warm. She'll kinda roll, scoot, flop over to the feed and the light and do the same when she's done.
We spent all last week-end replacing the chicken run to make it as predator proof as possible.

How long can she just sit there? When I pick her up she doesn't squawk or anything like she's hurting. She'll preen herself and fluff in the dirt.

Is it possible to have a disabled chicken be happy? The only problem I see is the BO (which I'm beginning to think is a roo) He walks right on top of the GLW. will walk right on her head.
when do you know it's time for sure to cull?
