It was pretty late, but I made it back home. Thank you all so much for the welcome. I had a great time and just love the birds. DS is thrilled enough with the Sumatras he's forgiven me for going without him. I promised to take them next time. I'll be on the lookout for the next date.

Hope to see you all again soon.

We made it to Grandpa's house and I died. I woke up this morning to some new aching muscles. Jordan will be working this one off for a while. We are gonna stay here for the morning and then head back home. As always, we had a blast yesterday. I ended up selling about 65 birds and came home with 5 for me and 2 for a friend. I think I did good. I'm trying to work on that 12 step program until I get the new pens built. I want to thanks everyone for putting this event together. It was spectacular.

Hey everyOkie!! I made it home safely last night - poor birds had to stay in the car while I went to work, but I now have them squared away and they are fine. Thanks and kudos to EVERYONE for another awesome get-together. It was so nice to see everyone - and again, all the kids were so helpful to jump and help people unload, help me put up my canopy (Bubba Roy & Dakota), move birds and catch runaways - Thanks!

averytds (Trisha) from Kansas even came down and attended - she is our newest honorary Okie! It was wonderful for everyone to meet Okla-Doodle-Doo (Wayne & Brenda) who traveled from Tennessee to be there. All told we had 144 people sign in, and I know more from the area or even folks staying at the KOA came down to see what we were up to.

Faerielady - I was sorry I didn't get to meet you, but I did buy your two RIR pullets, brought by Poultryand Bees. They are beautiful girls and quite friendly! I'd guess they are about 8 or 9 weeks old - can you tell me more about them?

Poco Pollo - thanks for selling me the Marans pullets - I forgot to ask you how old they are - my guess is about 5 weeks...

FunChick!! Your totes are so great - you are SO TALENTED - I enjoyed chatting with you - although I didn't get to talk to anyone as long as I'd like to have.

Shavon (or should I say "that lady"), I enjoyed hanging with you, Jordan and Lauren - good luck with everything you have going.

Jeannie and Maribeth - I would like to make appointments with each of you to sit and chat next time!

ArtsyRobin - I am the proud owner of one of your paintings of a Cochin - it is wonderful. Betsy showed me the guinea pieces and the Silkie you did - I am in awe of your talent!

Doc Holloway - thank you thank you thank you for the cage!

Stray - your secret is safe with me! Good luck hatching.

Michael Daugherty - you are so kind. Thanks again for the "vintage" pet carrier - it is very much appreciated.

Donnie - it was great to meet you and Dustin. It was fun to come back to our little area and see a new box of chicks or carton of hatching eggs that you'd acquired.

Cuban Longtails Tara and Shawn - thanks for helping me take down the canopy - I enjoyed getting to visit a little more with you Tara!

SplitSocket Richard, BetsyOK, and Les & Teva - thank you for being so willing to share your knowledge about chickens - you are all some of the most informed and experienced yet humble people, and I very much enjoy talking to you and listening to what you tell others - I learn something new every time! Really, I don't know how many times yesterday someone would ask me a question and I'd direct them to Richard, Betsy or Les.

Okay - now I want news about what I missed! I'm looking forward to seeing photos of the entertainment and hearing more about it - I know Donna had some really fun ideas and I'm sure everything was a hoot!

I'm interested in knowing who went home with the two Silkies (black & white) that were in the raffle (did you get them Kathy?!), and also who won the Frizzle Cochin cockeral that was in the raffle (his name was Elroy when he was at my place - quite a personality, that one.)

I am bummed that I had to leave early, but so happy I got to come - thank you everyone for being such wonderful people. Now, it's nose back to the grindstone for me!

COOKE, I believe it will be an annual event. There is just too much work & planning.

I was happy to see you get that duck!

I had a great time & would like to say thanks to everyone that spend months planning & seeing it all the way through. It was great to meet all the new faces & the one's I got to see again. Thanks to all the one's that helpped out in the kitchen with the food & stayed late to clean up the club house!!

It was so late when I got here & I so wanted to sleep in this morning! My head is killing me. I still need to get out & feed & water everything.

My thanks to everyone who helped organize this great event. You folks did a wonderful job and your efforts are appreciated . I had a great time and it sure was nice to meet some new folks and see some old friends.
Thank you Teach and Al for bumping me up in the auction lineup. I am just getting over a hip replacement in my left leg and two days earlier a horse kicked me in my right leg. I was about ready to fall out of the race, but thanks to the two of you I was able to pack up and get on home !
Looking forward to the next one. Richard

Sooner, a little late you were but you did an awesome job taking care of stuff and it was fun visiting with you!!!
Quenton, you and Carolyn did a great job and had a great time talkin with ya!!!
Doc you and the PEACHES crew were totally awesome, everywhere there was a need there was a peach gang member, thank you all!!!!
Stimpy, was glad to see you there, had a wonderful time visiting with you and the misses!!!!!
Mike, My hat is off to you man, you give soooooo much to this group and you take so little praise, I know you put out a lot of money on raffle tickets, you are fair and great with supplying a variety of birds for people to see and purchase and you help out in every way, I say thank you is not enough, we do appreciate you!!!

I know I didn't even get close to mentioning everyone I had contact with and do not mean to leave anyone out, we had a great time all around.
Heather was sooooooo tired by the time we got home, we had trouble getting her in bed before she fell asleep. Dakota was exhausted, I didn't even see him go to bed, he just disappeared into his room never to be heard from till about 10 this morning!!!!!
I myself was exhausted, my back and neck were so sore from the drive home i had to hit the ibuprofen and drag myself to bed, the truck is still loaded!!!!

We didn't buy anything, I don't think that has ever happened before when I went to any chicken event!!! I had fun, sold some stuff, hope all enjoys the jellies and birds we brought to sell!!!!!

We did have a disaster when we got home though!!!! Jessie informed me this morning with tears in here eyes that while we were gone Saturday that the cats got in and killed all but one of Dakota's pigeons!!!! He is heart broken but took it like a real trooper, we are going to rebuild and CAT PROOF the pen and then get a new start on some pigeons for him.

Hope all made it home safely!!!!

We can't wait till the next one, I like the twice a year but totally understand the time and effort that goes into setting this up, once a year might be a better deal for those involved in set up, I also like the idea for the satellite group gatherings and potluck meeting through out the year, keep us posted on the happenings.

Welcome to ALL the new comers to our POOPS and FORUM, I am in and out but am here at heart all the time!!!!

HAVE A BLESSED DAY ALL !!!!!!! Lynn

I am really looking for all the others to check in! I know there are some that haven't left the camp grounds yet & others that were in hotels that will be traveling today but lets all check in & let us know you arrive home safely!!!!

Doc Henry & wife~ You guys might be in TX but you are considered OKIES! Never feel like you aren't part of this group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donna~ Entertainment was great & you stressed way too much! P&B you saved our act!!!!! We all had a good time!!! Can't wait to get home to post my pictures!!!!

Kronk~ Where are you??? I hope you take time to rest today!!!

AL~ You are the fence post!!! LOL! It was great meeting your wife & daughter. Your daughter was a sweet girl, looks like they will drive us crazy to be at auctions so they can hang out.

Jerry~ The book was worth 6.00!!!!

Michael~ your daughter was a very sweet girl & I'm sure we might just see alittle more of her! Matt asked me to show him the deer pic of her but didn't have a clue how to find it on here!

Time for me to rest & get ready for lunch that my mom is fixing!!!!

We got home a bit ago. Went right out to feed the flock, then came in here to touch base. Vashi and I really enjoyed this great event! I'm still in awe of a group of this kind that functions soooooo well! Reflects well on the wonderful leaders and everyone else who worked hard to bring it about. We enjoyed everything about it, even the firm bed in Kabin 5! Amused at the roos and turkey that began crowing at 3 a.m. right outside our front door. We're early risers anyway, so it wasn't a bother. Besides, we LIKE the sound of roosters and turkeys.

We are both impressed (as I was last year), with the fine youngsters! The entertainment was definitely entertaining!

Food was great! I think the wonderful peach cobbler was made by Donna.

I'm very proud of the art work I bought from Robin. I'd already bought the two guinea pictures, which she delivered to me yesterday, and then bought the silkie painting that is now her avatar. Great work, Robin!

My silkies and showgirls were well received, and I'm glad to help out with encouraging people to raise these wonderful birds!

The best part of all is, of course, THE PEOPLE! Young and old and all in between.
