Peaches and I cut the grass and started weed eating the other day. It would have been better to use the tractor and baled it since it was so tall. I still have some weed eating left on the back of the house.

Our lawn is aweful. Its knee high in alot of areas. Its bad enough I dont want to step in it for fear of what might bite me.

I lost 2 of our Partridge Cochins in it yesterday. Had to get the yo yo out to find them hens. And when I did find them all you could see was movement, you still couldnt see them.

P&B Did you get to meet Glen and Beckie at POOPS? They are the couple from Texas that we invited. Glen gave us a GQF incubator and the first hatch should come off tomorrow. We will see. Most of the eggs were bought at Blanchard and we filled the rest with our eggs from the yard. He could never get a hatch to come-off and after 4 tries, he quit.

That is nice that you were able to trade his some BLRW chicks. That may take some of the sting out of his very expensive BLRW eggs that aren't really pure BLRW

I'd love to have some BLRWs if I could get 15 or so. I don't know if I want eggs though. I would prefer to have the full grown chickens.

I told you guys that I would bring the tractor over and bush-hog the back for you. My phone still hasn't rang.

I didnt know you offered. Carls cousin came out a while back with his tractor a brush hogged the back of the place, our lawn in the front yard was already tall enough then that you could have brush hogged it. But Carl just had him do the back. Its all good because today I get to have a lawn!

I hate it when the lawn looks like crap, then I dont care to do anything on the inside of the house either.

You can come over anytime, you dont have to bring the tractor for an excuse to visit...lol

Good luck...lol.

I havent been able to hatch any lately. They havent been fertile. We trimmed the hens not long ago so I should find out soon if it helped. When I can set 30 eggs a week from the BLRW and not a one is fertile but the rooster mounts the hens, we figured we would try trimming the hens first. If it doesnt work then I will know the the rooster has bad aim cause i have gotten chicks out of him before.

Yes, I believe I did meet them. Very nice people. Hope you have a good hatch.

Blanchard started "testing" random eggs by dropping them into a bowl of water, after someone sold about 20 dozen that were WAY TOO OLD to hatch or even eat.

The BLRW eggs are a funny story because the guy who sold them bought a BLRW pair from Steph - that she really wasn't wanting to sell until he offered an outrageous amount of money - then he put the pair where they were exposed to recently wormed horses and cows and the rooster died from exposure to too much Ivermectin (since he had been wormed himself only a few days before the sale). Two weeks later, the guy brought BLRW eggs to the Blanchard sale and at the same time asked Carl if he could bring his BLRW hen back out to expose her again to Carl and Steph's remaining BLRW roo.
