Yeah we are often referred to as that LOL, I know there are several folks up that way that test NPIP but can't say for sure, perhaps they will chime in later.

She likes it that I'm talking to chicken people, raising chickens started out her idea....then after research, I found BYC and have been a full convert

So what's for dinner? Oh by the way, Doc told there was a hotel across from the auction...he just didn't tell me the name or address. Can you help out in that area?

Thanks

Bill

Bill if you are up for a trip to OKC there is a class for new testers coming up next month and you could test your own birds. Look at Poulrty and Bees signature line and call Marie at the Ag dept.

. Maire is the best source for info on NPIP.

Hiya, BarnSwallow. I attended the Farmers Market meeting again tonight and things have changed again. I guess they didn't check with all their growers, because some of them are reporting plenty of produce. So, I'm gonna be there bright an early at 7:30 on Saturday to get some good fresh local vegies.

Thought you might want to know. Maybe I will see you there.

man:( Jason the girls and I will be doing the family fun walk on post with his unit at that time, but thank you for keeping me posted though appreciate it

Hot Dof caught 3, Peaches caught 3 and Hi-Jacker caught 4. We were out less than 45 minutes fishing.

Hot Dog actually caught his on his new Ugly Stick fishing pole using a jig head and Gulp worm.

Our internet is running slow tonight. It took 25 minutes for the pix to post.

Hey Al, how is everything in your world tonight.

Bill, the reason I didn't pass the info about the hotel is that in my old age, I forgot the name of it.

Life is good as usual, slowing down a bit tonight and relaxing, going to candle in a little bit, see if I can wrangle out a decent hatch this time around.

I had to to laugh, because although you posted it a couple hours ago, that was exactly what I am doing....
...My DW is always asking if I'm," talking to those chicken people."
On another note, can someone tell me a little bit about NPIP, what age is typical for checking, and who in the Tulsa area can do the test?
Thanks
Bill

The Department of Agriculture will come out and do the NPIP testing on all your birds over 4 months old. While they are there, they will test for Avian Flu. The NPIP tests for salmonella and typhoid. The charge is $5-15 for the certificate. You schedule the testing by contacting Marie at the phone number in my signature line. There are several folks in the Tulsa area who are certified to do the NPIP testing. Marie can furnish you a list of folks if you ever just need a couple of birds tested for a show. If all your birds are tested, the flock certificate is good for one year. If only individual birds are tested the certificate for that bird is only good for a 1-3 months (sorry, I don't recall the exact amount of time)

The Department of Agriculture was planning on scheduling a new testers class in Muskogee or Tahlequah in June this year, if enough people signed up by their May ??? deadline.

In a little pond below the house.
Hot Dog had a blast. He woke up this morning telling Mom, "Momma, us go fishin" and he hasn't stopped all day.

At the auction last night I bought him a Ugly Stick Junior. Man, it casts like a dream. I put a jig head on it and put a 6" Gulp worm and just cast it for him. He started reeling it in and his pole bend in half. He said, "here it come". I wasn't paying that much attention until I heard it splash. He got excited and forgot to keep reeling. Got him to start reeling again and he landed it himself. He was so proud but wanted to put it back. You don't put fish back with Peaches there.

We only stayed 45 minutes so we could go get them filleted and started cooking. Peaches made her hush puppies and the feast was on.
