Anole?

They eat small crickets (needs to be no bigger than the lizard's head), gnats, mealworms, etc... They love silk worms.

It was an Eastern Side-Blotched Lizard . I have seen them in western Oklahoma several times although I cannot find any information about them being in the state. I ended up letting it loose in the pasture behind the office. Lauren would not quit playing with it and I figured it would be best to return it to its habitat.

City - It was nice to see you again. I hope the new pullets work out for you. Always look for a spot up front before you park in the back, and never be afraid to ask for what you want: two things my dad always used to tell me.
P.S. I did make the sale. Victoria and I delivered a Salmon Faverolles cockerel today to the guy from the feed store parking lot. He's buying a hen (hens) from us on Saturday.

nnbreeder - Thanks for the input on using the hatching tray. You're absolutely right about a broody taking time off the nest. My broody Salmon Faverolles hen just hatched 8 out of 10 eggs. She had to take potty breaks, food breaks, and stretch-those-legs breaks. I like the paper towel idea. A liner would save time and cleanup. Thanks!

Robin - I sent you a PM about an LB cockerel. I hope your friend is still interested in getting a calm male bird. I sold my last extra Salmon Faverolles cockerel to the gentleman mentioned above.

This hot weather has got us hopping. I wrestled a snake away from the dog today (already dead... didn't want the dog to eat it, yuck!). Heat keeps building up in the barn so we're turning off lamps and turning on fans for the hottest part of the day by the brooders. At night the fans are off and the lights are back on. It's a chore, but the babies are hopping like ice on a griddle. They are a happy, happy bunch. They will probably get to move outside for the daytime hours pretty soon.

thought I would post a little funny

You Know You're Too Stressed If..."
...relatives that have been dead for years come visit you and suggest that you should get some rest.

...you can achieve a "Runners High" by sitting up.

...you say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing that you have said it before.

...the Sun is too loud.

...trees begin chasing you.

...you can see individual air molecules vibrating.

...you begin to explore the possibility of setting up an I.V. drip solution of espresso.

...you wonder if brewing is really a necessary step in the consumption of coffee.

...you can hear mimes.

...you believe that if you think hard enough, you can fly.

...things become "Very Clear."

...you ask the drive-thru attendant if you can get your order to go.

...you begin speaking in a language that only you and Channelers can understand.

...you say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing that you have said it before.

...you keep yelling "STOP TOUCHING ME!" even though you are the only one in the room.

...your heart beats in 7/8 time.

...you and Reality file for divorce.

...you can skip without a rope.

...it appears that people are speaking to you in binary code.

...you have an irresistible urge to bite the noses of the people you are talking to.

...you say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing that you have said it before.

Boy I've never seen the Okies so far down the list. We better start yacking it up! I guess a lot of people are traveling for the holidays. We are staying home. Been on the road enough for a while! Real ho and humid here.

I have to lock down some eggs today.

We have a new Taco dog family member. Toullie gave birth last night. Was a disappointment and shock. Two were born but one was a monster. It was huge and perfectly formed but was like a balloon full of water. The surviveing one is a cute little brown girl. WE expected more because of her size but it was all that one babay. Really sad.

My one post for the day, I will be MIA all weekend! Everyone have a fun & safe weekend.

Thanks to all of you that have served & are serving.

Wayne I'm sorry to hear about your puppy! Maybe it will be better next time. Don't forget to post pic's of the new one!!

Well, I didn't say it was going to be pretty, but here's what I'm going to be working on this weekend. I work (at shop) all day Saturday and have to tend the kennel both A.M. and P.M. on Sunday and Monday, but I get what time is left between the A.M. and P.M. to work on my chicken coop. I am going to enclose one corner (about 9 X 9)....3 strips of 36" wide 1/2" hardwarecloth. Cover with shadecloth...extend dig barrier out around the bottom at least 24"..work in progress.

Nice start June. I'm sure you will get it looking awesome very quickly.

I'm almost finished with my chicken sled. I was trying tractors but now I've changed to sleds. I haven't seen anything called a sled but it's what the pen reminds me of.

Our Blue Spangled OEGB laid their first egg today.

Howdy, friends.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a great chicken day! Start the morning off bright and early with a stop at the Lawton Farmers Market at 7:30, then straight from there to a buddy's place to help him process 100 broilers ala Joel Salatin style. He's got the whole setup, cones, scalder, tub style plucker, all top quality stuff from Featherman. Says he's gonna teach me right.

More like he's going to spoil me, with that setup!

Then after a short break, work with my birds, build a couple tractors, visit with family.

After that it will be auction time! Taking the whole kit and caboodle to Ye Olde Fletcher Poultry And Small Animal Auction in the big city of Fletcher, Oklahoma. Hope to see some of y'all there!

Well, I know I will see Doc and Peaches there. Least I assume I will, seeings as how it's their gig.
