I have two chocolate colored mini-rex does, each of which had kits about 2.5 weeks ago. My mini-rex buck is black, so I don't know yet what color the kits will be. The last time, most were black with a few sort of a cinnamon brown color.

I bet they are cute. Do you breed your does in the summer?

I had the same reaction when I had to scroll down to find the Okies thread. That doesn't happen very often.

Is there a particular variety of peacock you are seeking or just one that has enough feathers to impress Piaget?

Hi Maribeth,

Well I am hoping I can find a male around 2 years old or close to it. Piaget is a little over 2 years old and would like to find a male who will be fertile at about the same time she is. As for type, Piaget is a pied spaulding and would like to find a male like her but honestly any handsome male will do. I think I know her type

so it is kinda like I'll know the right one when I see him.
Of course I would like some peachicks. White, indian blues, etc are all on the want list. Peafowl are really the only major thing left on my list I want to aquire this year.

Turkey flock is growing nicely, still would like to find a couple more grown hens but thats ok if I don't. Have two pair of adult turkeys, 4 young ones in the grow out pen, 3 in the brooder and 7 on the way in July, all from different sources and hopefully next year I will be back in the turkey egg selling/hatching business. One of the poults in the grow out pen is definetly a male, he is the smallest one in there but has already started fanning his tail, it is totally cute. My goal is 3 toms and at least 7 females, should make a great breeding flock.

Hello,
Hey P&B, how was Indiana. Or should I say how is Indiana.

Bigokie, I was just thinking about you . How is the fishing up your way?

I sure want to go to Blanchard but still not sure if I can pull it off. I need to sell some birds. Big and small.

Michael D, Where are you? Are you going to Mary's on Saturday?

Yes............... tear out yesterday, more today and we should be making sawdust by this afternoon. it was big enough to take 4 guy's almost 2 hrs to just unload the materials trailer. The heat is a big factor to keep the guy's going, some don't like to drink water and I have to force them to stay hydrated.

Don't you love the smell of sawdust in the morning air.

Make sure they stay away from the sodas. Maybe get some gatorade.

I have to remind myself to stay away from the coffee, just drink water and gatorade.

I do mix powdered Gatorade in the 2- 5 gal jugs, and yeah I hate to drink soda during the work day makes me even more thirsty. The Fingers are doing fine I lost some nerve feeling in the thumb and am hoping some of it comes back with time, and the baby fingers nail hasn't started to come in yet it's in the healed gross looking stage right now, it kinda looks like old man toe LOL.

I leave next month and have a lot of prep stuff to do yet. I was thinking that I might get a pig and have a cookout before I leave.

My son comes in for a visit starting the 30th and leaves back out on the 8 of July, it might be fun to let him see how Okies party.
