I should have called! Next time I'll make sure to make time to come visit you. This time when I showed up I couldn't find the parents in the house, so I walked around to the other side where they're building a new chicken house and pet quarters with kennels, etc. Dad was welding the frame for the kennels, and Mom was mowing. I carried my stuff in the house, changed my shoes, grabbed my gloves and went out to help. Those people don't ever sit down - I don't know where I got my lazy bones from...

City! I had a dog that looked exactly like that...from the blue/red merle to the white on the forehead and a dark patch above the tail. It nearly made my heart stop when I saw your picture!

My dog was my riding companion and saved me more than once from being robbed and/or assaulted while horseback in CA while trail riding. She was a truly special girl. She had a vocabulary of over 200 different woords...she was so darn SMART that I had to stay a step ahead of her. She was able to be soft (gentle) enough to herd sheep, and hard enough to go to the head and heels of any cattle I needed to move. I had her for 18 years and she was my dog in childhood through being an adult. I still pine for that dog! She was, and still is, one of the great loves of my life!

Oh Suzi! Thanks for the story of your wonderful dog. That breed must be extremely vocal - the dog in the photo and her son were on the property - both had wide vocabularies and were eager to "talk." I was there with a distant cousin from Washington state - she is 19 and had never been to Oklahoma. She was so excited to be in the presence of Hank's relatives, and when they started "talking" she was amazed.

Teach - Dad said he'd seen you last at some school event at Hardesty. Both my folks really like you and both commented on what fine gentlemen your boys are. When they talk to me about you, they refer to you as "Your Chicken Friend Roy."

Thanks on the kid compliment...we try. Sometimes they make us look good and other times their mother hides in shame. Overall we wouldn't trade them for anything less then well...make an offer. I really enjoy your dad's sermons but that is just too far for us to travel each Sunday! We have been going to a church here in town. A buddy of mine is the pastor...he uses lots of Biblical references and such...go figure basing a sermon on that! The Hooker methodist preacher is leaving...going to Amarillo...yeah you figure all that...you know how the system is supposed to work.

Hmmm....leaving the OK Methodist Conference? I asked Dad about that guy on the drive from Union Center to Hardesty Sunday morning. Next time I come I'll let you know - if it's on a First Sunday maybe we can meet up at Union Center for Sunday dinner...YUM!!

Yes, I like to tell people I'm related to Hank the Cowdog - he is the most famous "person" in our family!

Howdy Grace! or do you prefer Madam Superintendent? just don't let anyone call you super-dependent...that would be rude and not true! You are super dependable, super-duper, supper-developer...I could go on and on
