Morning Everyone, I thought it looked like it could rain on my way to work this morning so just checked the radar and it looks like it's going to miss us at least for now we got a light rain yesterday and it made it just sticky I liked the post on here a while back someone called it "wearable air"
Looks like you could get a bit of rain AL, good luck with your mechanicing
Been at work almost an hour and still haven't had a cup of coffee, I think I need to fix that

Yep it is a resp. infection. the next step is usually a swollen head and in a turkey it will look like it is going to pop it will get so big.

Get a drug called LS-50. Smith Poultry Supply is where I get mine as they offer overnight shipping. Use 1 teaspoon per gallon of water and give this as the only water for 7 days. Should fix it right up. The LS-50 is a bit pricey at around $30 a bottle.

I'm here to tell ya Al, If I can work on things like that anybody can. LOL The shops and dealerships have the general public afraid to try to work on their vehicles to keep the dollars rolling in. Even if specialized tools are needed places like O'Reilley's have a good selection that they will loan out with a small deposit.

Good morning all. We got a flash flood yesterday. It washed everything out. I was stuck at work and the power was flickering. It was not fun. Luckily, it was the end of the day and only one patient remained in the building. We had to wait for the power to quit flickering, so we could finish the paperwork and charting before we went home. There were branches down all over the place and all kinds of junk had been washed onto the roads. It has been raining on and off here all morning. I need to be getting around to head to the doctor, but I really just wanna go back to bed. I hope everyone gets to enjoy some of the rain today. I promise not to try and keep it all to myself.

welcome to a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they live in Oklahoma.
Disclaimer: some of us are addicted to attending poultry auctions, hatching poultry and acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be "enablers" we may try to assist you in acquiring the same addictions we have, if you don't have them already.

So tell us about your poultry - what you have and what you would like to acquire.
I drove through Harrah yesterday. King's Feed on Harrah Rd has become my favorite feed store the past 2 months or so - love the price on their egg layer and chick starter. Harrah is about 20 miles from my house, but I can save the price of gas very quickly with their feed prices being $1-3 per bag less expensive than what is available closer to me.

Yes kings feed is a great store. I also have cattle i am constantly buying feed and hay for and they really help the budget out. Their prices beat everyone around except for lick blocks for my cattle. Atwoods sells em a bit cheaper but i save tons on everything else.
As far as poultry i have now, i have 5 cochin bantams. 4 hens and a buff roo. Then a polish hen named fuzzle lol. And four rhode island red hens and a rhode island red roo. Just hatched out 8 black sex links from a friends flock.
Also hoping to get some rain out this way..

Oh, okay! So it Was because of the AI testing that I only had to pay $5?

That is my understanding. When I first got into the NPIP program a few years ago, I asked about the cost and as I recall the response, it was to the effect that the Dept of Ag had federal funding for the AI testing - so as long as it lasted, they would only charge $5 per year for the NPIP certificate, because they would do the NPIP testing while they were on premises for the AI testing. I got the impression that the Dept of Ag didn't know how long the funding would last and that prior to that funding being available, it cost about $35 ???? for a NPIP certified tester from the state to come out and do the testing.

Thanks. I thought I had heard something along those lines, but wasn't as detailed in my memories!

Good morning,

I am loving this over cast day! RAIN RAIN RAIN I WANT RAIN...

Although I am sure I wont be singing this tune if it rains all the time though ... ha ha

But it sure does put me in the mood for fall..

Chickens are liking this change in weather also as we had another good egg laying day yesterday.(well at least compared to the HOT HOT days when I was blessed enough to get 2-3 eggs... now we have 8-11)

Morning Okie folks!

Doc Those were good hot weather things! Hope you get back on the moutain soon and out of the heat.

Sooner wish I could send you some rain! We are getting daily showers now. Hate to not like rain but the extra humidity is hard on the chicks. I think I finally finished resorting and rearranging the birds this morning! Does anyone one else seem to be constantly moving their flocks around!lol. Have my last OEGB hen hatching today. Weaned chicks from two hens last night, they were being led thru to much wet grass.

Les I'm with you on the mowing,we are back to twice a week again.Thank God for my zero turn,it sure makes it easier for me.

Good news,My sister came out of bypass okay. And today is my lovely wifes Birthday! Gotta go shopping afterwhile. She does like the sparklely things, but only if they are surrounded by gold! one expensive chick!lol
