Sorry i wasn't around more yesterday and last night. It was Jared's birthday and we went out to celebrate.
He is now 11 going on 18.
The waiter at the restaurant guessed he was 15. If he keeps growing like he has been, I bet by spring he will six feet tall.
I guess we are supposed to get some high winds and heavy rain later today so I ned to go see what needs nailed down.

Hey Monty, at lease it sounds like Jared won't need to be nailed down.

What exactly is a Golden Feather membership?

A Gold Feather Membership normally costs $20 per year and it give you a LOT more storage space for Personal Messages (PMs) and the opportunity to select your own "title" such as ~Drives a Magic Poultry Van~ or "Okie Moses"

From my perspective, the extra space for messages is a big plus.

Are you getting any rain in Eastern Oklahoma today?

BTW - we still have the fawn colored runner ducks we bought from you at the first POOPS and they continue to entertain us daily and I have hatched out as many as I can from them. When I want to drain some energy from our 7 year old grandson and his friends, I allow them to help me "catch" the runners and put them in a holding pen. The boys certainly sleep well that night.

BTW - your webpage indicates that the sale begins at 4:00 and we have on our list of Oklahoma auctions that it begins at 4:00. Do we need to change the auction list for 6:00 for future auctions?

Had some good news yesterday. Since we moved into our house last October, we have been trying to buy the five acres behind us that were owned by the same guy. He finally got the paperwork together and drove up yesterday and we exchanged deed and money. Will be taking it to the courthouse today and making it official. We've been so worried that he would sell it to someone else and where there is a clearing and a power pole is right behind our house. We moved to the country so that we wouldn't have to see our neighbors if we didn't want to and had talked about moving if that happened. Now we have our comfort zone and it is such a relief. It is totally undeveloped land, covered in trees with a little trickle creek and a stone knob. I'm looking forward to getting out there this fall (when the snakes are in their winter dens) and exploring further.

Speaking of snakes, found another copperhead after my quail. I posted about it (with a graphic pic) here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=394043

Congratulations on acquiring some more "country" and "space" in your backyard. I agree that it is nice to "own your view"

Sorry you are having so many copperheads. I am not totally excited about snakes, but the non-poisonous ones don't make me uneasy like they used to a few years ago. Poisonous snakes however . . .

I am glad to hear that the Ducks are still making you laugh, and that they are such a helpful sleep aid for your grandson
