Morning all : While having my first cup of coffee and walking the dog in my Jammi's, I always walk out to the coop to check on the birds, My stomach turned when I noticed the main door to the Coop wide open. I walked down there and it was dead quiet, when I walked inside they started talking and nothing was amiss. I guess in my haste to get a few cages out of the equip area to load up and take to Blanchard I must have left it open. The good thing is if a critter would have wandered in he still wouldn't be able to get to the birds in their individual pen's, so I dodged a bullet on that one.
The auction last night was great as usual and all of the old crew was there, Marybeth, Rebecca, Monty, Michael, Carla & Gerald and some new folks too. Ivy Good to meet you, hope things get better with your Dad very soon. $$ were a little on the high side and those buff Orph hens that went for $35.00 ea was just crazy stupid $$ LOL and I had the pleasure of actually auctioning them off. That whole deal came as a big surprise to me, Jim & Jerry only had one auctioneer last night and when he needed a break they were stuck, I was out back talking with somebody smokin & jokin and heard my name called over the loud speaker, I didn't know what they wanted but when they dropped the bomb on me I couldn't say no Twice. But I think I will still keep my day Job LOL as most of you know I am no Auctioneer LOL.
Even though it has been 9 years since 9-11, I was moved to remind folks and pay a small tribute with a moment of silence at the onset of the auction for those people that we lost that terrible day and for those who to this day are defending their honor. Being a retired military war vet, I was inspired and proud to bring to our attention their heroic efforts, I hope it was well recieved, and that a passelfull of prayers went up during the silence.
