Okies in the BYC The Original

Just finished feeding and watering everyone. One of my BLRW cockerels has a scratch on his leg. I searched the entire pen but couldn't find anything sharp. None of the others are injured. I took the little guy in and cleaned the cut, bandaged it, and put him in the barn next to the brooders. He's out there talking to the guinea keets right now. I hope we didn't have an animal come through the yard before I got home from work today. This particular BLRW likes to sleep right next to the cage wire. If it was a critter, he's lucky all he got was a scratch.

I'm still agonizing over what to take to Fletcher this Saturday. I'll be driving my new old Fold. Every time I drive it I'm amazed that I'm driving Granddad's old truck. Once, when he'd lost the key, he started it with a screw driver. I never mention this in front of family because any little bit of trivia starts a deluge of stories about Granddad and his truck. It's not as bad as the fishing stories, but it does wear a person out.

Poco I envy u getting to go to Fletcher we have soccer all weekend!

I am the one scratched up at my place with a nasty cut on my finger! typing is fun! Fingernhurts too bad to sleep plus I still have a teen out on the roads!

Morning. I missed everyone last night. It was kinda lonely. I candled the Mallard's eggs last night and all of them were bad. I also candled the eggs under the RIR hen. She has four good duck eggs and four good chicken eggs. I'm thinking of splitting the eggs between the two of them. Well I gotta head to work. Hope everyone has a great day.

Sounds like you may be coming down with a terrible fowl flu bug. One that causes you to think rationally with regard to your chicken/poultry population.

We can surely "cure" you of that at the next auction. . . . or maybe you are coming down with a different addiction - maybe to acquiring rabbits? I can help you with any rabbit addictions - would you like some more mini-rex rabbits?

How are the guinea eggs that are in the incubator coming along?

Good Morning everybody
That's Funny cause last night we were watching Charlie and the chocolate factory and the little rich girl was naming off all her pets and my youngest daughter all the sudden said " Ha Ha I have more rabbits then her." We are up to 12 bunnies. Just got caught up on homes for them.
I know there will be something I will buy and I will get that look when I get home.
The Guinea eggs are set to hatch any day now I think i found someone to take them all He said he wants 100 of them.

Morning All,

I got on yesterday afternoon and tried to post and my antivirus picked up a bug, and when I tried again last night BYC was down with a message that they were working on some problem did anyone esle have the same thing happen? Or know what they were down for? Just wondering trying to figure out where I might have caught the bug from so it don't happen again. Have a great day everyone

oh soo gooood to see you all back! whew! we really need an email tree or something to make sure we can touch base when the site is down-

yes, if you go to this thread it explains it

ok, yes i have been busy, but do come in and see what you all are up to... update on scooter the guinea chick, after consulting with the vet- (she has a sparrow that has a similar issue - his leg healed wrong and she couldn't reset it-) the decision was to watch and see if he adapts, to be able to get around, he will have to have a special enclosure later so he won't get to run with the main flock, but he has a friend and they will have a run and coop - her take on the leg was it had gotten twisted and healed that way. He is learning to hop on one leg and push with the bad one, eats well, zips around the cage almost as fast as his buddy- so if he takes a down turn, he will be culled, but for now, we will take it a day at a time

request for anyone with call ducks, i need some good clear photos for reference, so pm me if you can help!

have a good one all!

Good Morning Everyone.

Just thought I would hop on early while I have a chance.

Maribeth, I will have your 2 cages at the auction Saturday. I appreciate you letting me borrow those.
Cant believe I show up at an auction with out a cage. But I know that there will always be an enabler lurking to help me out.... lol

Hope everyone has a blessed Wednesday. Hump day.

May God Bless!

break the bantam eggs into a measuring cup until you have almost 3/4 cup and you will have the equivalent of 3 eggs and can make a cake with the eggs. Yummy!
