I wish I could but its inbetween a giant hay barn, (with hay in the loft square bails) and my brooder barn. bout to eat supper then go sit in my loft on a bail of hay notion sensers are plugged in live traps and claw traps are set. But after looking at the poo and discovering a nice size hole in the pasture dug under the barn fence completely dug under the concrete slab. The size of the poo is that of a small dog say collie. And first the head was missing then later that night the whole trophy was claimed. I am thinking that Ironically I saw a coon in that brush pile. But I also have a young yote living under the barn perhaps a den of young ones seeking revenge for a mother of theres dispersed? would only make more sense why I lost 3 in a day without ever noticeing. I am rearly out of my yard the carcass I found beheaded was still moving from nerves and still warm. (and was later retrieved only to leave a pile of feathers) guess time will tell eh? ty all

On another note I have attempted to post this 2 times and perhaps my computer has lagged or dropped connection, does it alot out here.

I actually graduated from Fairland High School. I have to drive through every so often just to make sure the town is still there. So far only one of the two houses that I grew up in is still standing.

Well it's time to kick the youngsters out of the den as Coyotes mate in September, that way the youngsters are getting ready to venture out of the den in early spring.

There are a lot of critters on the move. I have seen Badgers as close as two miles South of me just recently. may be time to re-inforce your pens before things get hungry this winter.

We do have Red Fox in the area. There is a pair of them on the East side of Kingfisher along John's creek. And the attack sounds like Fox more then Coyote.

With Fox there will always be two that make the raid. One as a lookout and one to make the raid. Listen close as you open the door to go outside. If you hear a yipping it's the lookout warning the other one.

So glad you could join us! Jump in & get to know all the friendly okies!!! Watch out for the one's that will help you flock grow larger than you planned! What are you going to have on your farm???

I just realized I am coming in late & you most likely have answered all this!

Finally located my missing turkey, this is a good thing and a bad thing. Alot of my turkeys roost on top of my barn, and today I located her up there, setting in a pile of leaves and branches. Of course she started hissing and snapping at me because she is on top of about 8-10 eggs. I would assume she is safe enough there, but I have yet to figure out how I am going to get the poults safely down. I dont think I will be able to move her during the night because of where she is, so this may get interesting.

Evening all! I am in beautiful OKLA!!! we arrived about three this afternoon.Went and checked on my aster and then went to my neice, sand checked out her flock. She has some nice rr,barred, comet and ee,s.She has about four runner drakes and some heavy Roos she needs to get rid of if anyone in the Adair county area.
Then we went and looked at six acres that a friend has offered to sell us!And my wife liked it real well!,,Of course I did too,so we decided to talk to the friend about it and wife is thinking of getting a travel trailer to put on it so we can have a home base here!,(Have I died and gone to heaven!lol)It has a small barn and pipe fenceingandgoood grass. An old trailer is on it and will need to be hauled out.But it's flat, just a. Littlle ways off the main road on a blacktop, has a well ,fenced yard with nice house spot..Just what we (I)were wanting. Now if I darn just keep her interested in it when we get back home.

when is everyone going to be at the fair? is that this weekend? We will be in Tulsa on Sunday.

Ive had hens hatch chicks on top of a 20 foot tall stack of square bales and they all survived the fall.

Yes, it would be far to easy for her to lay in either the coop or the goats barn like all of my other turkeys, luckily she is the only one that finds interesting places to lay, including on the seat of my lawn mower, and also in the bed of my truck. I made it all the way up the drive before she poked her head up and I saw her, that would have been an interesting trip to town. Most people just have a dog in the back, not me a turkey...

You have found a wonderful group of folks who like poultry and either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma.
Disclaimer: Some of us are addicted to acquiring poultry and since addicts tend to be enablers, we may try to get you to join us in our addictions to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions and otherwise acquiring poultry.

So what kind of poultry are you hoping to have on your farm?
