Yes, sad but true . . . I didn't make it to Blanchard tonight. I think I am getting older or something - I have worked at the State Fair 4 times this past week, at the wine festival today and I am just plain tired

I have a phone number for you, but not an email address. When the phone and computer were synced, it was the emails that I lost. As far as I can tell, I didn't lose any phone numbers. Thank heavens.

I answered questions regarding bees and beekeeping in the bee display in AGtropolis at the State Fair. AGtropolis is the educational display where they have a few cows, rabbits, chickens, butterflies, cool bugs from the zoo and some goats. This is the third year for the bee display and since I haven't learned to shake my head at the same time I am saying "No" this is also the third year that I have coordinated the volunteers - 12 a day for 10 days. ( my head tends to bob up and down in a motion that most interpret to be a "yes" response - regardless of the words coming out of my mouth)

So heres my update I get home check my bator YAY chicks are peeping. As I stand up I get this aweful feeling deep in my gut. you know that feeling where you think life is coming to a halt? My heart hurts I am pouring sweat so i ask angela to please take me to the ER. When I get there Doc looks at my spider bite and tells me its staff infection he has to Cut it open, sometime during that I go into a shock Blood pressure sky rockets, Fever sky rockets, They put me down in the bed and place me on oxigen. All I can think about is did I tell my babys I loved them today. I hear them asking if I feel alright but I couldnt respond. Life seemed to fade out of me he called it some kind of response to the meds I hear the nurse say hes going down hill. I felt faint and dizzy.
they cut me Open clean out the infection and pack 1 1/2 foot of gause into it. the nurse was gonna keep me. But thank god angela is an on call nurse (home healthcare) and the doc is her doc I am at home now. I feel terribad. I know I should Hope for the best but just incase things can turn for the worste again thanks everyone at byc for being such a great bunch of folks. Get some rest! I know you will be fine, you don't have a choice with all your BYC friends . . . just look at Mr. Stimpy! Take a break and put your feet up, you deserve it after all that. I am glad they sent you home, hospitals may be good at saving lives but lousy to recover in. If you want to see a chicken, have your kids bring you one, but please let yourself heal before you try to jump back to work.

MM I hope you get to feeling better! Try to listen (insert man wisecrack here) & take it easy. What are they doing for treatment? Most likely you are on some high power anitibiotics & if you don't give them a chance to work you willl end up in the hospital.

How is everyone this morning??? I am still tired but couldn't lay in that bed any longer, maybe I will have a nap in my chair later. LOL.

Sorry to hear that MM...,I knew something wasn't right with that bite at the auction....from what you were telling me it sounded more serious than you probably thought it was. I hope you are feeling better soon. Sooner is right you don't mess around with a staff infection....if it gets to the point of sepsis your in trouble. take the antibiotics and take it easy.

Sort of sorry to have missed the opportunity to see some Flemish Giants with pedigrees last night at Blanchard, but since I am in the process of selling all my non-pedigree Flemish, I really don't need to get any more rabbits until I get some cage space.

Sorry also to hear that birds were relatively low in number at Blanchard - I would have thought however that with the numbers down the prices would have been up.

Hey everyone...

Today is my son austins birthday... he will be 10 at 3:57pm today... I cant believe it...

Made him his favorite kinda cake( oreo dirt cake)...

Austin doesnt really ask for anything... except this year he has decided to give his birthday money to the ronald mc donald house... he wants to help kids with cancer... or at least in some way... I am a humbly proud momma right now... I remember when he did this a few years ago... similiar thing just sees something touch him to the point of where he knows exactly what he is giving up...

Anyhow our chickens are enjoying this much cooler weather and look forward to less humidity and sun and more HOT SOUP evenings with brisk moon walks...

Those cornish x we have seem slow growing? Although my daughter says they are getting a lil plumpy.... hope I dont have duds.. ha ha

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday

Jere Man it was great seeing ya Saturday for a brief visit... for Christmas we will get you a basket for your tricyle

and some streamers for the handle bars...
