MM, Take care of yourself and don't overdo things. I will be praying for you.

Les, you are a super guy. Thanks for helping out Matt.

Wayne, So glad you found a litle piece of Heaven in Oklahoma. I know you must be on cloud nine with things taking shape for your evntual move back.

I am not gonna try and mention everything else, there sure was a lot going on the past few days.

I wanted to judge that BBQ event but no one ever answered my emails or returned my calls.

I hope you had a good time and didn't eat too much.

I am really sorry about the death of your cat, but you have to let it go. You can't just prop a dead cat up in the middle of your chickens or arrange him like a guard cat on top of your pens for a photo Op. You need to bury him.
Strange thing is, he doesn't even look dead in those pics. If you are gonna insist on keeping him though, you might want to take him to a taxidermist. He will keep longer that way.

Well we are just past LittleRock, headed east,Can,t wait to see my birds especially the new chicks. Although I promised I would cut back on birds to lower the feed bill, doing my small part to save money for the new place. Every dream has it's cost I guess!

I have noticed on my travels that you see very few flocks of chickens in the American country side. Sure wish more people would go back to them. I see so many pretty farms that. Would be even nicer with flocks!

Today the girls are 1 wk old, we lost a total of 3 (2 arrived dead, and 1 the next day). Everyone else is looking healthy wings and tails are feathering, they are running, jumping, eating like little raptors. I am so glad I found out they can eat treats when young!!!! I enjoy treat time as much as they do, it is soooooooooooo entertaining watching them play keep away, even though there is plenty more in the plate. We also put a couple of small grasshoppers in to see what would happen, it resulted in energetic and entertaining rounds of hopper football. lol lol

The dog front is looking hopeful, two don't even care, look at, or aknowledge the chicks (but they weren't the ones I was concerned about) my little weiner dog who is my problem child, has not been aggressive to them but is overly concerned w/ them, and would chase in a heartbeat if allowed. But he is getting much more calm around them now. We will keep them secure and keep working w/ all the dogs and hopefully have a peaceful kingdom! lol

hehe I am here just in and out disinfecting 5 acres is alot of work LOL I had no idea what I was getting to on a good note. all the birds seem healthy they passed inspection and so did my quarinteen pen. Moving babys out of bator into brooder now so happy We got our first chicks. on an odd note these chicks are Barred Plymouth Rock Roo over White plymouth rock hens. Looks like someone gave me some faulty blood somewhere in the 2 because they all have black lines down there shanks LOL there adorable pics in a bit hehe.

I am in for the day now Carah, I had to come home and wait on the Dish Network folks, Alyssa is getting a DVR for her room. I had to wear a sweatshirt to work this morning LOL, fall has arrived.

Yesterday I went out first thing in a t-shirt and turned right around and put on a long-sleeved shirt. I made it to the dog pen before I went back inside to grab a jacket. This morning I threw on my heavy duty farm coat and found DH's leatherman multi-tool in the pocket that he had been looking for before he left. I guess I'll be mailing it to him when he gets an address. I went out to the chickens and found one of my buckeye hens that has been hopping the gate to hang out with the australorps had laid half a dozen eggs in their coop. I guess I can't call them bachelors anymore. I'm not sure what a buckeye-australorp cross would look like, but I've got two empty incubators and a ferocious itch to put something in them. I might wait a few days for my "good girl" buckeyes to lay some eggs and put them all in together and see what I get.

Hi ya'll, sorry I got side tracked....short attention span & all that.

I love my DVR Al. You know I am a summer time girl. Not that I don't like spring & fall but I hate Winter!

Sounds like your hen is lonely! LOL.

Hey my friends, how are all the Okies? I haven't had a chance to read much lately but I hope that everyone is doing great. You guys could send me some of the cool weather, I think it is supposed to be around 106 today and over 100 for at least the near future. My blue wheaten Ameraucanas started laying, and huge eggs for pullets. Anybody need some roosters?

You guys have a great week!
