Howdy!

Finally got some free time.

Things have been crazy and I am not sure why. Sure wish I was closer to the auctions...really got to get rid of some ducks! That and I keep throwing some white chickens not sure why but they don't get to stick around.

I have some cool little mutts...part jap and part pheonix...cool birds. Gonna put them on some cornish...

Started the first fire of the season in the wood stove tonight. A big success for me, but kind of sad since that is Bil's job. He has made it safely overseas and I have been hanging out in the house alot waiting for his calls. During a two day stop in Spain, he was able to talk to me on the webcam, which was an unexpected, but nice, surprise.

I've had a little trouble with the eggs in the incubator and keeping the temperature stable, but I seem to have solved the problem now. It's been within a couple of degrees either way, but I candled today (set them the 30th) and didn't see any sign of development. I might wait a couple days to see if that changes, but I might have to scrap the bunch and start over. In other sad news, I lost my single tuxedo quail today. Not sure what got him, but I found a couple of odd puncture wounds on his body. I would have to lose the only one that I had bothered to name.

I plan on separating my young quail out this week and taking the extras to the auction. I believe Blanchard is this next weekend, so maybe I will get to load up and make the drive down. I'll probably try to leave early so I can get my birds consigned and then go find something to do in the area until the auction starts.

It is homemade Lye soap. I use different oils & Lye. This batch has Lard, Olive oil, coconut oil. I really like it & DH with the sensitive skin likes it. It also seems to be helping my oily face. I will be glad to let you try some the next time I come that way to go to an auction.

I have tried to slip in a few here and there!

Between football, getting ready for hunting and trying some new things at school I have been a pooped puppy! Three of us (math, English and I) have about had melt downs at school. We decided to go home or at least throw kids out at 4:30 to 4:45. Then try and get our stuff done. We got this book, and it hads totally messed up my teaching ideas...I think for the better. Comes a point when you get tired of caring more than the kids. Plus I have had to put my counselor training into use way more than I wanted. But I think I am helping some kids so I guess that is good.

orlatorical...I think I had that once in college...stopped going to those parties...crazy English majors

that is kinda the idea! They have to hold their own with the Shamos and those other tough birds!
