Wow! The weekend is almost here. I'm planning to go to Collinsville early on Saturday morning to sell some cockerels. I don't have room in my freezer for them, so maybe somebody else does. I thought I'd turn around and drive south in the afternoon and check out the Brushy Mountain auction in Sallisaw that Sooner mentioned. I talked to Kenny, and he said they had a good turn out last Saturday. He said birds sell at noon and then outdoor/garage sale type things sell when they are finished selling poultry. He also said the cages do not sell with the birds. He mentioned they had some cages for sale recently, so maybe I'll find one in good shape to use as a backup transport cage.

Doodle - awesome pair of birds. I'd like to see some more pictures when they get a little older.

The only reason I don't have much trouble with cell phones in my classes is that most of my students a very poor and can't afford them or can't afford to replace them if they are taken and we have good scanners and bag checkers at the doors in the mornings.
On the other side, tonight I was so tired when I got home I washed my cellphone (in my pants pocket). It is the second time in 2 months I washed it. Good thing I got cell phone insurance.

hey guys i posted here a about a week or so ago about feed mixture i was using and i was told the protein was too low , so i changed it

i was using layer pellets , corn , boss, and gamebird/turkey grower , on top of free ranging all the time as well , so since i have added calf mana pellets and adding vitamins and minerals to the drinking water 3 times a weeks in rotation with acv and garlic cloves ... do you think this will hold enough protein for the birds to lay and put weight on for the winter time

All you need is to Up the corn ratio with a normal 17% layer and add choice oyster shells get some cracked corn and mix it to your 17% feed heavy over the wintertime meaning add more corn. I am not sure why you are using all that stuff you mentioned perhaps someone else knows something I dont. But corn will add fat and heat to your birds to help them indure the cold winters also rig a bright Light in the coop and set it on a 14 Hour timer It gets a little darker in the winters so adding artificial lighting will help toggle the hens laying Beacon in her lil bitty ol brain.

Hi ya Everyone!

I am so happy to see Friday! I am ready for the day to be over & it has'nt started! Donnie, I am the same as Donnie, the only thing I do different is feed more scratch in the winter. My layer pellets are 21% protein.

Well last night was not fun. I let my dogs out to run after dark, not only does this deter critters they have never bothered my birds in cages before. Last night I heard something & they had rolled one of my cages, that poor bird was flighty before I bet he is now worse! Oh well they won't get to run anymore until I move those cages.

good morning....

We went to my youngest football game last night. It was better than the games in the past. Poor kids havent won a game yet this year.

Our birds have cut way back on their laying. Its about time to figure out who I need to put on lights.
